what you will be doing:
the qualified candidate will work with experienced software engineers executing web development best practices, full-stack design patterns, and secure software techniques in the rogue blue software (rbs) software environment as part of the integrated strategic planning and analysis network (ispan) mission planning and application system (mpas) systems.
responsibilities will include software development and design for mission systems and interaction with systems engineers, architects, scrum masters, product owners, and end users to deliver mission capabilities for usstratcom.
basic qualifications:
• bs in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent stem field (equivalent experience/combined education), with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related masters degree. considered experienced, but still a learner.
• must be a us citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. this position is located at a facility that requires special access
• ability to develop web or java code in an agile / devsecops team environment.
desired skills:
• familiarity with development tooling eclipse, jenkins, gitlab, gradle, git, junit, selenium, jira
• experience with javascript frameworks / libraries (react/angular/vue), css, and html
• experience with web services (rest) or json/xml.

About This Role:
The QA Analyst is part of the Engineering team and reports to our Manager, Engineering. As a QA Analyst, you will support our Engineering team by executing manual and automated tests, documenting defects, and validating fixes to ensure the quality and stability of our core products. This role will focus on test case development, regression testing, and collaboration with developers and QA engineers to uphold quality benchmarks in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute manual test plans, test cases, and test scripts for frontend and backend systems
- Perform functional, smoke, regression, and exploratory testing across mobile and web platforms
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tools such as JIRA or TestRail
- Run existing automated test scripts and analyze output for defects or inconsistencies
- Collaborate with QA Engineers to identify areas for automation coverage expansion
- Contribute to test data setup and validation of test environments
- Validate bug fixes and assess regression impact before releases
- Work closely with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and expected behaviors
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and QA reviews
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of test results and report test coverage and defect trends
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in software testing, QA, or software development
- Familiarity with manual and basic automated testing techniques
- Experience using bug tracking tools such as JIRA, TestRail
- Exposure to automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, Postman, or Maestro is a plus

Salary:
The starting pay range for this role is between USD$105,000 to $125,000 per year for all U.S. remote locations. The actual base pay will vary, and is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skill sets, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change.
