What You Will Do
- Leads and executes regulatory and policy initiatives and assigned rate review issues in relevant jurisdictions.
- Leads assigned regulatory filings, including development of applications, written testimony, tariffs, and other materials, and ensures clear and compelling messages aligned with corporate strategy.
- Monitors evolving regulatory issues and recommends, advocates, and implements policies and proposals that advance corporate strategic goals in the best interest of customers and the company.
- Develops and builds working relationships with staff of relevant commissions and boards and interested stakeholders (including customer interest groups).
- Manages initiatives with a high degree of independence, including identifying and mitigating risks as appropriate throughout the initiative and tracking expenditures and project progress.
- Ensures compliance with tariff requirements and designs market pricing and tariff changes and filings.
- Provides support and guidance to internal teams on regulatory issues, including tariff-related topics.
- Serves as a contact for staff of relevant commissions and boards and represents Alliant Energy in the public arena on a wide variety of regulatory affairs and pricing issues.
- Provides testimony in support of the Company’s strategy and initiatives, including regulatory policy and rate design.
- Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Economics, business administration, public policy, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Master’s or Advanced Degree preferred.
Required Experience
- 7 years professional experience in regulatory affairs, energy industry, or related field.

- Prior experience in a regulatory role.

- Knowledge of energy industry regulatory strategies, theories, and applications and ability to draft tariff filings.

Lead Federal Regulatory Relations Manager
Job Summary
As the Lead Federal Regulatory Relations Manager, you will lead Alliant Energy’s regulatory affairs before the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and related agencies, such as the Department of Energy (DOE). This pivotal role involves managing regulatory projects and strategies, including the construction of comments, stakeholder engagement, and compliance activities. Your expertise will be crucial in building and strengthening relationships with federal and regional regulatory staff and key stakeholders, including the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and the Midcontinent Independent Transmission System Operator (MISO).
In this position, you will also serve as Alliant Energy’s liaison to influential trade associations like the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) and the American Clean Power Association (ACP). Your advocacy will ensure that Alliant Energy’s positions on federal regulatory policy issues are effectively communicated and represented. This role is essential for navigating the complex landscape of federal regulations and advancing the company’s strategic interests.
What you will do
- Monitors activities in assigned federal jurisdictions, including monitoring FERC regulatory hearings and proceedings and interpreting technical regulatory information to help develop business and regulatory advocacy plans.
- Leads FERC regulatory advocacy strategy, including writing comments, testimony, and managing related filings for regulatory proceedings.
- Communicates internally and externally with key stakeholders.
- Manages projects with other internal team members to achieve specific regulatory outcomes, e.g., filings and rate case, and is accountable for company goal setting in this area.
- Maintains positive relationships with external parties, primarily regulators, their staff, and other parties associated with regulatory processes.

Lead Cybersecurity Analyst
Alliant Energy is hiring a Lead Cybersecurity Analyst for its Cybersecurity Operations team. In this role, your primary responsibilities will be overseeing daily cybersecurity operations and leading cybersecurity incident response activities. This includes architecting and supporting the cybersecurity operations center (CSOC) technology portfolio and cybersecurity risk management program.
This position is also expected to lead efforts that help mature the cybersecurity operations program, capabilities, and processes. You will be expected to serve as a mentor to the team, and to provide input into the overall cybersecurity program and strategy. You will work closely with other IT departments and key stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet business needs and provide consulting services to reduce risk for cyber assets, identify emerging threats and technologies, and help set technical standards for the department and company.
What you will do
- Lead incident response efforts, such as responding to identified malicious activity or highly critical vulnerabilities that pose a threat to the organization.
- Onboard data, configure integrations, and setup security alerting for the security information and event management (SIEM) solution, which includes parsing and analyzing large, complex data sets and integrating into the security case management system.
- Leverage knowledge in multiple security disciplines, such as Windows, Unix, Linux, data loss prevention (DLP), endpoint controls, databases, wireless security, and data networking, to offer global solutions for a complex heterogeneous environment.
- Responsible for the continuous maturity of monitoring and incident response capabilities.
- Stay current with, and remain knowledgeable, about new threats. Analyze attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) from security events across a large heterogeneous network of security devices and end-user systems.
- Conduct cyber investigations including suspicious files analysis across applications, networks, and endpoints, including memory and disk forensics, to determine maliciousness. Analysis requires knowledge of traditional malware, but also repurposed files that are not malicious, as well as targeted malware and zero-day attacks.
- Acts as primary security resource for strategic initiatives by providing security reviews and mitigation recommendations that address concerns going forward.
- Provides leadership for cyber team including setting standards, identifying emerging threats, mentoring team on how to mitigate risks, and collaborating with business and IT resources.
- Promotes strategic comprehensive planning by identifying advocating for security solutions or practices that substantially reduce the cyber risk of organization.

Education Requirements

This is a hybrid-remote position reporting to the Madison, WI office. Candidates must reside in Wisconsin.
Responsibilities:
- Using established procedures and methodologies aids in the preparation of tax records, returns, reports, and other regulated materials.
- Under close supervision, analyzes, and reviews tax records and reports.
- Following standard practices and procedures prepares source input, parameter tables, and other details of the tax accounting system, tax reports and other accounting related reports.
- Applies limited judgment and discretion when making recommendations for tax accounting adjustments, procedural changes and compliance with company procedures and various federal, state and local regulations in all areas.
- Under instruction of manager, researches issues related to application of generally accepted accounting principles and regulatory accounting requirements as applied to presentation of utility tax information.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks which require a fundamental understanding of tax rules and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Accounting.
- Master’s degree or progress towards Master’s in Tax or Accounting.
- CPA or CPA eligible.
