Job Context & Major Challenges

UltraTech Cement is the largest cement manufacturer in India with an installed capacity of about 100 million+ tonnes. The company has production facilities in multiple locations spread across the country and has plans to grow further than acquisition and green field expansion. The market has strong regional players in each Zone and has strong brand competition.

With the scale of operations of the organisation, while the zonal & regional teams are custodian of the business and other related aspects, there is a need to have a centralised function for establishing execution strategies for sales and SOB growth in each of the identifying new business opportunites, planning, project tracking, operational strategy, driving standardised Consumer experience, hold all data/MIS together for tracking business performance to National Head Key Accounts.

To build market & consumer insights, we need a central team to drive the market information to be built into the business strategy, driving mission happiness and customer loyalty for enhanced business results & make the planning more robust.

Challenges –

  • To support Head Customer Centricity and Success and Senior leadership across verticals by translating insights into relevant strategies, opportunities & value propositions, & articulate implications on the brand, product, technology, processes & thereby overall business results.
  • Be the consumer advocate (based on deep insights) in all business decisions by connecting insights with broader business objectives, present findings from extensive ground work to create awareness, implications, and recommend appropriate action steps.
  • Help in identifying and connecting the dots between consumer needs and business verticals to create unique value propositions in each line of business.
  • Build a culture of insights where consumer insights are considered as essential part of the solution design & would ultimately lead to better experience & hence more business.

  • Conduct market/consumer researches time to time /requirement based for in-depth understanding for market penetration, category expansion or market expansion – as & when required
  • Work with internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects to drive customer centricity & provide solutions.
  • Help and support in identify new opportunities/gaps in existing processes, assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility, resource availability and allocation

KRA4 Digitization

  • Identify existing processes & new areas where automation can be done to increase revenue/cut cost/save time such as development of outstanding alerts for PRMs, CRMs & SPs

  • Identify improvement opportunities and enhancements in existing applications: Understand product roadmap to ensure adequate measures before it reaches end of life and also to review new functionalities which may be required for own business. Identifying improvement areas by understanding gained from market and partners. Along with BRM, Application Manager and team, develop improvement roadmap for designated application / technology Assist BA to understand details of related function and Module. Design, develop, test and deliver new business scenarios. Getting Audit observations closed after necessary corrections.
  • Contribution towards projects implementation: Contribution towards solution / technology designing. Work with Project Manager on resource utilisation plan without compromising project deliverables and support SLAs Identify and attach resources to projects as well as support demands Plan and execute knowledge transfer from projects to support teams Ensure service readiness (for support), implementation and UAT for new projects and Regression Testing Support change management during implementation of new projects, if required.

KRA1 Business Development

  • (A) Conducting demos for VAC products to clients to help them understand their functionality
