Summer Associate Internship (Collections, Reporting, and Analytics)

Job Description

The Collections Reporting & Analytics team supports the Data and Analytics needs of our business partners for all lending products across Navy Federal. This unique team support a large array of diverse data sets and challenges to provide insights that can help support our membership in difficult times.

The Summer Associate will work with our vast data landscape to help analyze legacy reporting and identify optimization opportunities for current analytics as well identify gaps and create recommendations for new insights to take our analytics to the next level for the business. Areas of focus may include identifying performance indicators within business operations for our front-line counselors or identifying risks and larger economic impacts on our business unit as well as potential data transition projects as we move some of our analytics from on-prem data sources to our cloud warehouse.

The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2025 and ending in August 2025. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2025 or later.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve, analyze, and validate data and test accuracy of reported results.
  • Analyze and summarize business operations, customer, and/or economic data in order to improve business intelligence, optimize operating effectiveness, and predict business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with business operations partners and senior management to conduct needs assessment to support business unit objectives.
  • Effectively communicate data outcomes to business stakeholders and leadership

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a graduate degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Science, Analytics, or other related degree
  • Experience with research, analysis and data validation.
  • Experience with large and complex data sets.
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with data visualization (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies (Databricks, Microsoft Azure)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience working with ambiguous problems.

Member Service Representative (Full Time) – Midwest City

To provide members and prospective members the full range of products and services offered by Navy Federal Credit Union including depository accounts such as checking, savings, certificate IRA, revocable trust and estate accounts; Lending products; and credit/debit cards. To perform moderately complex platform banking functions under supervision. Provide assistance/training to lower level team members.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, research and resolve problems and discrepancies related to member accounts/loans
  • Assist members with submitting consumer/mortgage/equity loan, overdraft protection and credit card applications
  • Counsel current and prospective members about Navy Federal’s products and services
  • Ensure cash and other negotiable instruments are handled properly
  • Identify opportunities to cross service products and increase product penetration

Finance Rotation Program

Summer Associate Internship (Member Research Strategist)

The Member Research team oversees Navy Federal market research operations, ensuring high quality, effective research to support enterprise objectives and strategic initiatives. We design and implement feedback collection in many ways, using primary and secondary data to deliver integrated member and market insight packages to guide the design and optimization of best-in-class products and services.

The Summer Associate will assist team members in all phases of research project initiation, management, and analysis – including, but not limited to, proposal development, sample and questionnaire design, oversight of data collection and quality check, management and coordination among vendors, data processing, analysis, creation, and final report presentation.

  • Track and help provide incentives to survey respondents.
  • Assist team in the preparation of reports by pulling data from cross tabs, creating charts and slides in PowerPoint, populating charts, proofing numbers, etc.
  • Perform competitive market research and analysis to support requests from internal clients.
  • Through research and analysis, develop a deep understanding of our client base and target markets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field (English, Communications, Psychology, etc.) – preference given to candidates working towards a degree in Marketing Research
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and statistical software (SPSS)
  • Proficiency/working knowledge of Qualtrics.
  • Understanding of market research methodologies and data analysis techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
