Role Summary

Associate will support Professional development (PD) process for BCN Staff along with DE&I initiatives. This role will assume responsibility and provide support for Professional Development and Training, along with other related DE&I activities assigned or as responsibilities pan out.

Roles & responsibilities

  • Support with performance appraisal system that drives high performance culture
  • Prepare and implement the yearly PD training & DEI calendar, take care of logistics for the trainings, events etc. prepare requisite reports/dashboards, track process through regular feedback surveys, effective data maintenance and drive process improvement
  • Organize regular training and orientation session on the PD process for new hires
  • Manage and resolve PD related employee grievances and concerns
  • Support with policy management including drafting and implementation
  • Support with annual compensation benchmarking exercise including coordination with the vendor, analyzing JDs, identifying key roles, mapping market data etc.
  • Identify and deploy process automation in partnership with other stakeholders wherever possible.
  • Strategizing & implementing multiple DE&I initiatives round the year including preparation of the yearly calendar for DE&I and awards participation, liasing with multiple stakeholders to plan, implement & execute initiatives, development & curation of content, collaterals and branding strategy for initiatives

Experience & Qualification

  • UG with 3+ years/MBA with 12 months+ of relevant experience in HR domain, having worked in consulting organization would be an advantage
  • Understanding of HR function, policies, DE&I fundamentals and processes, event management & execution
  • Proficient in Excel, Power point, with ability to manage MIS, dashboards and reporting
  • Effective communication with problem resolving outlook
  • Detail orientation, analytical bent of mind, organized, strong team player and a flair for writing
  • Demonstrate openness and flexibility while executing projects

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

Bain & Company is seeking to recruit an Expert Pricing Consultant to build upon the firm’s Pricing capabilities in the Americas. This includes working with the Consulting Manager as well as Bain Generalist and Pricing Expert Partners to define key analyses and deliver high-impact solutions in end-client engagements. You will be responsible for leading teams from our Pricing Center of Expertise (based out of India) on client-facing engagements.  You will be the problem-solving lead, working with clients, local Bain teams, and the Pricing Center of Expertise to gather data, assess pricing processes, produce excellent analysis, and deliver compelling recommendations.   You will also be called upon to contribute IP for on-going improvement of our B2B pricing solutions.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • On client work
  • Work with case team Partner or Senior Manager to understand scope of work; provide relevant advice on pricing topics, delivery model, and applicable tools
  • Liaise with the client map to understand client systems, data structures
  • Turn data into meaningful insights, and transform insights into high-impact actionable recommendations/approaches
  • Project manage pricing workstreams, including defining deliverables, setting timelines, and delivering high quality output
  • Lead on-shore / off-shore teams to create and execute against a backlog of critical predefined and custom analyses
  • Train clients to implement new approaches and appropriate tools
  • Project-manage development as well as implementation of appropriate tools (proprietary or third party)
  • As needed, traveling to meet with the clients and case teams you are working with (subject to Bain and client COVID travel protocols)

Beyond specific client work

  • Work with practice leaders to help with proposals and other areas as required to deepen ability to serve and increase adoption of Pricing Center of Expertise
  • Support our ongoing effort in promoting pricing products internally and externally, including leading tool demonstrations
  • Work with Pricing CoE to communicate future and changing needs of the practice and influence team priorities, capabilities and structure accordingly
  • Proactively suggests solutions; drive new demand for CoE, within and beyond current scope

Team

  • Communicate effectively with team members around the world concerning the work, client relationship, expectations, and insights
  • Exert strong positive influence and professional development for junior team members by leveraging content expertise to provide coaching on problem solving, work-planning, data analysis etc. as applicable
  • Constructively engage in mutual feedback process with supervisor and team members
  • Participates in developing programmatic elements of Bain’s pricing practice, including planning, recruiting, developing people, training etc. as required

 

ABOUT YOU:

Required:

  • BA or equivalent
  • Distinct pricing experience, ideally with business consulting experience. We are looking for candidates that fit at least one of the below criteria:
    1. At least 2-3 years of consulting experience in pricing projects
    2. 4+ years of prior industry level experience in pricing (MBA preferred in this case)
    3. A combination of the above
  • Strong proficiency in big data gathering, manipulation, analytics, and visualization.  This should include proficiency in big data analysis tools such as Alteryx, Python, and/or R; and experience with visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI.
  • Experience working with B2B commercial transaction data
  • Ability to quickly pick up and apply complex topics
  • Strong abilities in problem definition and problem-solving
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and experience using complex modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions
  • Excellent oral, written, and PowerPoint communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively, and manage others in diverse and distributed teams
  • Ability to work well with all levels within Bain and at client
  • Ability to lead interactions with senior stakeholders (at Bain or Client)
  • Comfort working independently and/or remotely from supervisors in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to client locations (expected 20-30%, with potential peaks of 60% at times, subject to Bain and client COVID travel protocols)

Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Experience with commercial operations or business operations in a B2B environment.  Understanding of manufacturing and/or distribution sectors is a major plus.  B2B tech sector experience is also desirable.
  • Experience or familiarity with major enterprise pricing software tools; for example, PROS, Vendavo, Pricefx, or Zilliant.

As an Intern you will be an active member of the team, learning how to make businesses more valuable and helping our clients achieve sustainable competitive advantage. You will be responsible for generating industry & company insights to support global Bain case teams, client development teams and industry / capability practices. Interns are also responsible to generate hypotheses using various tools and techniques, including expert primary or secondary industry research, developing analytical models, translating data into meaningful insights, creating presentations, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Comprehend client needs and challenges for adapting to case expectations. Show ability to resolve discrete issues and/or drive consensus

Associate – CME

You will be a part of Communications, Media & Entertainment CoE (Center of Expertise) in BCN’s Consulting Services and work with individuals who are passionate about solving managements questions for the clients and developing industry perspective and products in the telecom, media & entertainment sector. The CoE serves leading companies across domains such as Wireline and Wireless Telecommunication, Cable and Satellite, Media and Gaming industry. The team is primarily focused on collaborating with practice/case teams on the development and deployment of industry specific analytical products and partner with case teams to answer strategic questions of Bain’s CME clients.
