THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a senior software engineer to join our growing tools team. As a key contributor you will drive and enhance tooling capabilities for debugging and performance improvements on AMD platforms. Your contributions will enable developers across gaming, graphics, and AI/ML industries to get the highest quality and performance from AMD’s industry-leading technologies.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for software engineering development, and is diligent and passionate about technology. A successful candidate will need to employ strong knowledge of computer graphics technologies, leadership skills in technical areas, and SW engineering expertise. The ability to understand and contribute to components of large software systems in an agile development environment is essential. They should be able to work independently and have effective communication skills to work across multiple time zones and feel comfortable interacting with external customers and partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and drive execution of software features for the latest generation of AMD products
  • Take ownership of product development from inception to final customer delivery
  • Contribute to a mature product team and well-established codebase
  • Collaborate closely with other teams to plan, deliver, and support future hardware and software architectures
  • Work closely with development teams and Project Managers to drive results

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong C/C++ and object-oriented experience in Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with Python scripting
  • Understanding of graphics APIs such as DX12 or Vulkan
  • Understanding of machine learning (ML) technologies will be helpful but not required
  • Experience with debugging and performance tools such as Microsoft PIX, RenderDoc, or AMD’s Radeon Developer Tool Suite
  • Solid understanding of Software Engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, Operating Systems concepts, and multithreaded programming
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline

Legal Billing Administrator

THE ROLE:

As the Legal Billing Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of AMD’s eBilling system and legal vendor onboarding process. The role will administer our legal billing platform, performing first-pass review of invoices and working closely with internal stakeholders, partners and external vendors on issue resolution. You will also manage the onboarding process for law firms and assist with other operations priorities across the Legal Department.


THE PERSON:

You are a strong communicator with an eye for detail and a passion for customer support. You proactively address stakeholder needs, identify problems promptly, and ensure timely follow-up and resolution. Strong analytical skills are essential for this role to ensure accuracy, spot discrepancies, and correct errors. Reporting skills are needed to interpret financial data and generate forecasts. Technical proficiency in billing software and other digital analysis tools is also important to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of AMD’s billing system, Legal Tracker
  • Administer law firm and vendor onboarding process for various internal systems, including Legal Tracker
  • Answer internal and external queries regarding invoices and payments, acting as the primary point of contact
  • Serve as initial reviewer for invoices and monitor for compliance with billing guidelines and audit as necessary
  • Analyze rejections and deductions, resolve issues, and coordinate between parties
  • Create and close matters and work with teams to streamline processes and optimize the system
  • Analyze key billing and matter data sets and recommend process improvements to ensure efficiencies
  • Provide routine and ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Assist with timekeeper management and rate review and approval
  • Assist with accruals and forecasting process
  • Provide support with other payment types for the legal department


REQUIRED SKILLS:

PCIe SOC RTL Design Lead

We are looking for an adaptive, self-motivated senior design micro-architect & leader to join our growing team.
As a member of the PCIe/CXL Design team, you will help bring to life cutting-edge designs, you will work closely with the architecture, Physical Design, and Design verification teams, and product engineers to achieve first pass silicon success.

THE PERSON:

Experienced team leader/Technical Leader who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/time zones. Have a passion for modern, complex microarchitecture, and digital design.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. Someone who wants to mentor, manage and lead a team through successful project completion.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

  • Participate in the definition of microarchitecture of next-generation high-performance PCIe/CXL connectivity solutions.
  • Lead a team of hardware engineers, responsible for Milestone and scheduled delivery to various teams.
  • Execute on RTL design and coding for various sections of the SOC.
  • Contribute to silicon debug and product support as needed.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience with PCIe, CXL
  • Relevant and proven experience of RTL design, Verilog and System Verilog
  • Deep knowledge of front-end tools (Verilog simulators, linters, clock-domain crossing checkers)
  • Validated experience with synthesis, static timing, DFT, ECO is a plus
  • Exposure to physical design and verification methods
  • Experience with scripting languages including Perl, Python, Unix shells and Makefiles
  • Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills

Server Performance Architect

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for analyzing and optimizing workloads running on AMD based hardware in the cloud computing environments of our key partners.  This analysis spans the full stack including the application and related frameworks, the Java Virtual Machine, operating system (Linux and Windows Server), hypervisor, network and storage drivers, BIOS, CPU core, memory & I/O subsystems.
  • Collect and analyze performance profiling data and traces from customer deployments of AMD based servers to quantify and isolate performance bottlenecks and share the insights to drive features into the next generation of server CPUs and software stack components.
  • Responsible for exploring opportunities to improve server performance through hardware & software co-optimization.
  • Debug performance issues and identify software stack specific issues and prototype solutions to fix them.
  • Micro-benchmarking, analyzing and tracing various benchmarks, workload characterization, competitive analysis on various hardware platforms, identifying bottlenecks and proposing feedback and solutions for performance improvement.
  • Work closely with other team members to understand design architecture and to propose solutions to improve/enhance performance with given SoC/IP and markets.
  • Collaborate with performance experts from our key customer organizations to resolve performance issues and optimize the performance of their AMD technologies.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with multi-core systems and multi-thread interactions
  • Experience with CPU, GPU, or computer system microarchitecture (ideally familiarity with all three)
  • Experience with the development and usage of computer system performance models
  • Experience with computer workload analysis
  • Proficiency in principles and methods of microarchitecture, software, and hardware relevant to performance engineering
  • Experience in IO subsystem microarchitecture performance modeling and strong background in PCI-E/CXL microarchitecture and Protocols

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field preferred
