The Role
We are seeking a seasoned SoC Architect with expertise or significant interest in System Architecture. You have had significant success driving architecture, product roadmaps and product requirements. You are meticulous about Power, Performance and Area while driving schedule and managing cost. This senior role will stretch you as you lead architecture teams in new directions, network with our world-class, patent-holding think-tank, and negotiate amongst design teams, marketing, and business unit executives.

Key Responsibilities
- Define product features and capabilities, close architecture, and micro-architecture requirements, drive technical specifications for SoC and IP blocks to meet those requirements, and provide technical direction to execution teams
- Comprehend the SOC as a complete system which includes HW (Silicon), FW, BIOS & SW and ensure that FW, BIOS & SW are aligned to enable all features, optimizing for performance and power
- Work cross functionally with IP/Domain architects to identify and assess complex technical issues/risks and develop architectural solutions to achieve product requirements
- Knowledge sharing and other contributions to Platform & System Architecture
- As an overall product owner, responsible for architecture analysis and technical solutions for marketing/feature change requests
- Work closely with Design teams for Area and Floorplan refinement, Verification Test plan reviews, Timing targets, Emulation plans, Pre-Si bug resolution and Performance/Power Verification sign offs
- Support Post-Si teams for Product Performance, Power and functional issues debug/resolution
Preferred Experience
- Outstanding foundation in Systems & SoC architecture, with expertise in one or more of the following: CPU or GPU, Memory sub-system, Fabrics, CPU/GPU coherency, Multimedia, I/O subsystems, Clocks, Resets, Virtualization and Security
- Experience analyzing CPU, GPU or System-level Micro-Architectural features to identify performance bottlenecks within different workloads
- Demonstrated expertise in power management microarchitecture, low power design and power optimization, along with power impact at architecture, logic design, and circuit levels
- Excellent communication, management, and presentation skills.
- Adept at collaboration among top-thinkers and senior architects with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams in different geographies
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred

Performance Modeling Engineer
AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a team of talented industry specialists and will work in driving advanced exploration for next generation GPU architectures and micro-architectures for the next generation workloads.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about system architecture, performance modeling, AI models and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with a set of partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work as part of AMD’s GPU Architecture and Performance Team to develop future AMD products.
- Run simulation models for new products and analyze results to characterize both the product and workloads.
- Keep abreast of new workloads, particularly for AI models.
- Collaborate closely with hardware architects, system engineers and business teams in evaluating and understanding performance characteristics.

The position focuses on providing strategic financial insights and managing operating expense reporting to guide decision-making, streamline planning, and drive meaningful business outcomes. You will collaborate with business leaders to deliver financial expertise and spearhead initiatives that are critical to the success of AMD’s rapidly growing AI business. System Software Engineer
THE ROLE:
We are looking for an experienced Engineer, who with their system software expertise will develop software to program & manage heterogenous compute architectures in AMD SOC’s packed with FPGA and various other compute processors. Ability to work cross-functionally across FPGA design, boards, SOC’s, various software stacks (linux, rtos, baremetal) will be essential to succeed in this role.

Ability to go broad in knowledge working on various hardware (board, fpga configurations) and narrow for software development (driver or firmware) will make one successful. The joy for learning in this space will be immensely supported by colleagues with diverse areas of expertise around.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Software Development: Develop linux user-space apps & kernel-space drivers. Develop baremetal, rtos firmwares & applications. Develop tests at unit-test, integration & system level.
- Collaboration: Work with silicon design, board design, fpga design, architecture and other software teams that are geographically distributed.
- Architecture: Contribute to the architecture and design of software, firmware, drivers, apps & tests.
- Upstreaming: Upstream linux kernel drivers to linux community project.
- Ownership: Plan & execute complex projects. Influence other teams to raise the bar. Mentor junior engineers to be successful.
- Customer obsession: Work with internal & external customers and customer support teams for resolving critical customer escalations in timely fashion.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Expertise in C programming language. 4+ years of hands-on C programming in previous jobs.
- Hands-on experience working with various types of hardware/boards – ARM System on Chips (SOC), Embedded systems, System-on-Modules (SOM), x86 CPU + PCI-E card endpoint.
- Hands-on experience with linux kernel-space, user-space & firmware development.
- Previous experience with writing software for asymmetric compute processors and inter-processor communication will be strongly preferred.
- Previous experience with Xilinx SoC (ZynqMP, Versal) and Vivado design tools will be strongly preferred.
- Some experience with python preferred.
