In this vital role, the successful candidate is an excellent business partner and will guide others through complex processes in day-to-day execution of primary market research, as well as developing the long-term insight generation plan to support the UPLIZNA US Marketing team. Acting as an internal consultant to the brand team, the communication and interpersonal skills of this person will set them apart from others and blend seamlessly with their technical ability to execute primary market research, both qualitative and quantitative. You will find the “So What” in the data and that responsibility will be important.
This position will report to the RDBU Commercial Insights Director within Commercial Data and Analytics (CD&A) group.
This is a flexible commuter position to Amgen’s site in Deerfield, IL, where you will work at least 2 – 3 times per week.
Responsibilities
- Act as an extended member of the brand team, participate in regular meetings to stay abreast of brand objectives, strategies, tactics as well as opportunities and challenges.
- Work collaboratively with partners and cross-functional stakeholders to assure research plans and individual projects support business strategies.
- Execute UPLIZNA’s primary market research projects, understanding the needs of the Brand Team and contributing to building the insight generation plan required to meet them.
- Support key annual activities including Executive Reviews, Brand Planning, Budgeting and business case support by providing objective, insights.
- Work to help translate Brand Strategy in to leading measures, insight requirements and deliver them in a clear, concise manner.
- Work to translate the primary market research findings available into actionable insights and be able to influence the team’s decision making accordingly.
- Be a positive mentor to the other CD&A roles, guiding their work and really understanding the underlying drivers of the results seen, to help constructively challenge the next stages of any analysis.
- Improve team capabilities by researching and implementing new research tools, internal and external standard methodologies, etc.
- Prioritize the business asks and deliver based on the agreed benefit for across the brands.

In this team-based role you will directly add to the success of the Product Quality team by collaborating within PQ and with diverse levels in functional areas including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Quality Engineering, International Quality and Process development on projects, issue resolution and investigations. The QA Specialist will use technical abilities and knowledge of QMS processes, procedures, and regulations to lead and deliver quality assurance responsibilities while owning, reviewing, and/or approving Product Quality records and documentation including: product specifications, in-process control specifications, specification technical reports, annual product reviews (APRs), international expansion forms, change control records, appendix docs (data sheets and data analysis), Deviation Investigations/Root Cause Analysis, CAPAs, analytical comparability protocols, analytical comparability reports, and procedures. Additionally, this role will approve commercial variation records (GDCR), and may provide training to other staff.
Responsibilities:
As a team member you will use your technical abilities to execute transactions in GMP systems (Veeva CDOCs, Trackwise, etc.) and may include additional business process support for APRs and site audits, as needed. The QA specialist may also support managing products in the annual product review cycles at Amgen.
- Provide QA Systems expertise and QA support to the Product Quality organization (PQ and Stability) by working within a team environment.
- Provide Product Quality QA support to one or more of Amgen’s clinical and commercial products by working directly with Product Quality Leaders and Principal Product Quality Leaders on QA tasks.
