Job Summary:

Applied Materials is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Manager to lead our Data Management related projects within the Transportation Management System (TMS) initiative.  This role involves leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data across the organization, in addition to driving governance around master data creation and maintenance.  This includes oversight of Master Data in the ERP system and TMS system.

Here are some key responsibilities and qualifications for this position.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and manage project plans for master data initiatives.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of milestones.

Data Analysis and Clean-up:

  • Conduct and manage thorough analysis of existing master data to identify inconsistencies and inaccuracies.
  • Perform data analysis and develop and implement data clean-up strategies to improve data quality.
  • Coordinate data validation and verification processes with relevant teams.
  • Implement master data error-proofing logic/rules/alerts to enforce data integrity and accuracy of future master data additions/changes.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and external partners to gather requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders regularly.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive project objectives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements related to master data management.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for data governance.
  • Ensure compliance with data management policies and regulations.
  • Establish data governance and control over key master data with the right level of security & authorization.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create comprehensive documentation for data clean-up processes and project deliverables.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for end-users and data stewards.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of Master Data Management experience required
  • Experience working with Blue Yonder or an industry standard TMS highly preferred

Experience:

  • Proven experience in project management, specifically in data management and clean-up projects.
  • Strong background in master data management, data governance, and data quality improvement.
  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience with SAP master data
  • History of partnering cross functionally with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain
  • Experience in Freight Pay, familiar with transportation rate management
  • Experience managing master data related to transportation lanes, rates, transits, modes of transport

Summer 2026 Supply Chain Intern- Bachelor’s (Santa Clara, CA)

Position Overview

Applied Materials’ Global Supply Chain Department is searching for interns to join our team in summer 2026! Interns will work in the Global Supply Chain group for 12 weeks supporting Supplier Account Managers, Procurement/Materials Managers and Supply Chain Analytics. Supplier Account Managers are responsible for supplier selection, supplier management, commercial negotiations, and creating and executing commodity strategies. Procurement and Materials Managers are responsible for ensuring timely delivery of materials to our factories while meeting cost and quality targets.

Responsibilities

  • Completing supplier request for quotations (RFQs)
  • Working with suppliers on obsolescence compliance and training
  • Preparing supplier profiles for presenting to management
  • Performing part analytics to ensure parts are assigned to the proper commodity family
  • Interacting with Suppliers on cost reduction opportunities
  • Supporting Supplier Account Managers in various tasks including meeting & presentation preparation, supplier management, quarterly business reviews, supplier capacity reviews
  • Perform Buyer functions, including: Creating, re-scheduling, and cancelling POs per MRP
  • Call suppliers to get material status and expedite material

Requirements

  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a related major
  • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Strategic Partnerships Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop deep long term partner relationships.
  • Negotiate and own joint development agreements and programs.
  • Scope and coordinate partner project plans and Statements of Work, in tight collaboration with engineering
  • Team with the Engineering, Technical Project Management, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain groups.
  • Ensure execution to your commitments
  • Transition Joint Development programs into long term supply arrangement together with the Supply Chain team.

Optical Engineer III – (E3)

Key Responsibilities

Be part of an engineering team to identify the scope, constraints and risks for design, fabrication, testing and volume production of advanced optical components for high performance optical systems.

Collaborate and communicate with suppliers during design of critical optical sub-assemblies.

Design and evaluate optical systems.

Develop alignment strategies and tooling.

Develop and maintain error budgets and define subsystem level requirements to be characterized and validated during the system alpha testing phase for current and future products.

Use customer and system requirements to derive design specifications for subsystems, modules, and components and provide input to design engineers throughout the design process.

Define and execute system test plans for prototype acceptance/qualification test of subsystems, modules, and components.

Business Partner for IT and Facilities

As the Business Partner for IT and Facilities your role and the team’s responsibilities are to drive decision-making in workplace, construction, and IT scope based on operational, manufacturing, secure collaboration requirements.

The highly technical role responsibilities involve serving as a bridge between technology and workplace architecture, helping to strategize and execute modern facility and IT solutions for Applied Materials.

What you will do:

  • Design and architect world-class solutions to increase velocity and time-to-market solutions for global workforce infrastructure.  This position is appointed as the design liaison between facilities and IT to collaborate and build modern technology-based services and solutions.
  • Partner with internal cross-functional teams to dig into root causes of design issues or changes in requirements that can be integrated into prototypical details
  • Find efficiencies and create best practices. You will be on the lookout to identify process improvements, highlight potential time or cost savings, and create plans to implement them.
  • Serve as the lead interface with business units/corporate functions and multiple GIS domains for the purpose of architecting complex, integrated IT solutions, technology strategy alignment and solution alternatives.  Works as an integral part of the strategic planning process with one or more BU’s/corporate functions and associated GIS domains.
  • Define and implement a unified strategy for facility and IT project execution across regions
  • Lead the development and alignment of IT and workplace budgets, ensuring transparency in cost structures and proactive forecasting.
  • Leads development and execution of complex, integrated application and platform service strategy and lifecycle roadmap. Accountable for ensuring adherence to service management processes and procedures, and for meeting performance, availability, and customer service level agreement targets.
  • Accountable for delivery of project and support service in area of responsibility within allocated budget. Approves project and service area budgets. Drive development of service area cost model optimization and implementation of optimization initiatives. Ensure timely renewal of maintenance and subscription contracts.
  • Identifies and maintains relationships with strategic IT solution resource providers.  Works with Vendor and Resource Management to manage service provider contracts and performance.

What You’ll Need:

  • At least 10+ years of Workplace or Construction IT design experience. Previous work with Santa Clara enterprise level companies to design or architect ecosystems.
  • 4 year, accredited degree in Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design or similar engineering field required.
  • Excellent design and technical skills (e.g. sketches, CAD, 2D and 3D software, Microsoft Office) to aid in the development of design proposals that align with business strategies
  • “Get it done” attitude. You will succeed in this role if you are a self-starter who is resourceful, collaborative, and solution oriented.
