What is underwriting? Finance Assistant

The Finance Assistant prepares daily deposits and prints and mails outgoing checks for all companies. They are responsible for coding and balancing all daily cash transactions for assigned companies, with minimal supervision They performs special projects.
This position will be in Omaha, NE, and up to 50% hybrid after a time of onsite training and at manager discretion. This position is not eligible for employer visa sponsorship.
What will you do?
- Prepares deposits (i.e., incoming checks and cash) for all companies.
- Prints outgoing checks for all companies using purchased software, personal computer, and laser printer.
- May prepare summaries of daily cash transactions (i.e., cash memos) for Cash Manager.
- May code daily cash transactions (i.e. such as cash receipts and wire transfers) for assigned companies – including NICO Citibank foreign wires.
- Assists with preparation of electronic statutory quarterly or annual statements and electronic filings.

Marketing Representative – Northern States Agency
The Northern States Marketing Representative will serve as marketing representative for owned agency operations within the assigned territory. Responsible for monitoring and fostering agency relationships in assigned territory. Provide marketing information to agents regarding product opportunities, how to transact business with the agency, and responds to basic inquiries on how to place various Auto and Property & Casualty insurance products with the agency. Engages in business development/marketing activities which include identifying and visiting potential and existing customers, attending local conventions, market research, managing the customer/prospect database, creating marketing fliers, updating website, sending out e-mail blasts, etc.
This position will be in Minneapolis, MN, and will be eligible for hybrid at the discretion of management. This position is not eligible for visa employment sponsorship.
What will you do?
- Responsible for monitoring and fostering agency relationships in assigned territory with a travel level of approximately 50% of the time.
- Follows up on action items/questions from visits. Communicates issues raised by individual agents and troubleshoots most common problems.
- Initiates contact with prospective agencies by calling agencies directly to identify characteristics and qualifications of the agency and to understand the level of interest in the agency’s products.
- Manages advertising for the agency by identifying products to promote, initiating ideas, developing ideas with others in the agency, and submitting designs for approval.
- Obtains necessary agency licensing and producer information required for agency appointment process and submits to controller.
- Registers for and attends conventions or other industry functions to maintain visibility to current and potential customers.

Client Services Analyst I or II
The Client Services Analyst will deliver excellence in customer service to agents, insureds, claimants and others business partners for support of our digital products. Provide customers support for company products including assistance in accessing and navigating the website applications and software programs, online access set up, and troubleshooting all products.
This position will be with National Indemnity Company in Omaha NE, and be hybrid after 6 months. Hours for this role will range between 7am to 7pm CT.
What will you do?
- Serves as the point of contact for customers on all technology support items. Acts as first point of contact with customer via telephone, e-mail or other communication, gathering necessary information to help provide answers to questions and problem solve.
- Reports errors in the software products used by agency partners and insured and tests the products as necessary to fix outstanding issues.
- Answers first level underwriting questions relating to commercial lines automobile and property new/renewal policies for the agency distribution segment.
- Assists agents navigate online rater question flows and assess submission status. Identifies second and third level underwriting support issues and transfers these issues to the appropriate individuals.
