2026 Summer Intern – Autonomous Vehicle Platform System Integration and Validation  (Master’s Degree)

Job Description

AV Platform System Integration and Validation team is responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing system integration & validation to ensure the quality, safety, and reliability of the AV platform software. We combine deep expertise in hardware, software features, and vehicle systems engineering to ensure the quality, safety, and reliability of the ADAS/AV platform software.

What You Will Do :

  • We are currently hiring system integration & automation development roles.
  • Execute functional bring-up and system integration on Subsystem and System Benches.
  • Evaluate system interactions across compute platforms, ECUs, sensors.
  • Execute performance and validation tests using simulation, bench (HIL/SIL) and on-road fleets.
  • Document test results, consolidate findings, and support root-cause investigations.
  • Automation development .

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience coding in an industry-standard language (e.g Python, C/C++).
  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Strong interest working with hardware, embedded systems, system integration, automated testing or related areas.
  • Hands-on mindset: you enjoy building, testing, debugging, and learning through doing.

The Role:

The GM EDI Team is seeking a System Configurator – EDI Analyst to work collaboratively within the team and with our numerous external business and IT customers.

The mission of the GM EDI team is to develop, execute, and maintain an EDI strategy which ensures GM’s ability to exchange business data across its supply chain quickly, uniformly, accurately and securely. This is enabled by developing a comprehensive understanding of GM EDI standards/processes/tools, external trading partner processes, and the business processes for the teams we support.  Our services are delivered to internal and external stakeholders with a laser-focus on providing outstanding customer service.

 

What You’ll Do:
This role will entail supporting EDI operation and innovation initiatives. This includes trading supplier onboarding and escalations, product and plant launches, EDI specification design and development, monitoring and troubleshooting jobs, documenting business and technical processes, creating EDI solutions for new and existing business ventures, and trading partner consultation and support. The EDI Analyst will collaborate with internal/external customers, business units, external EDI vendors, and other IT groups to identify requirements, assess available technologies, and translate requirements into solutions. In this role, the Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Display Development will be responsible for the technical design & development of the new display electronics hardware platform for GM’s next generation vehicles. The role requires an experienced professional with a background in automotive ECU architecture, design, and analysis, and a proven ability of successfully launching infotainment hardware into production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design of LCD/OLED display electrical hardware: from MCU, TCON, SERDES and other key component selection, schematic capture, worst case analysis, PCB layout, bring-up, debug, signal integrity and power integrity (SI/PI), design verification test (environmental and EMC), to manufacturing support and production launch
  • Design and development of the display hardware platform (from concept design to launch) while meeting cost, timing, quality, and safety targets
  • Deep understanding of the display backlight unit, FOG to be interfaced with display electrical hardware for final display assembly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as software, mechanical, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of the electrical design of the display hardware
  • Work closely with contract manufacturing partners to ensure successful product build, from prototype through to mass production, while maintaining quality, cost, and timing targets
  • Electrical schematic design and PCB layout
  • Support new IC design/development strategic to new display designs
  • Perform/support detailed hardware analysis – worst case analysis, signal integrity, power integrity, etc.
  • Execute bring-up of hardware design from power supplies, SoCs, MCUs, SerDes  interfaces, network devices, etc.
  • Lead design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for testing (DFT)
  • Drive the validation and testing of hardware components and systems, ensuring high levels of reliability and performance
  • Establish test plans and protocols to validate designs against requirements.

Requirements

You’ll partner closely with EMs, Staff/Principal ICs, and cross-functional teams to define the architecture and deliver next gen mapping capabilities that scale to national deployments. You’ll operate autonomously, lead cross-functional technical initiatives, and ensure the health, scalability, and performance of our critical mapping pipelines and services.

  • Architect and implement scalable, reliable, distributed backend systems to support national-scale mapping.
  • Design and evolve data pipelines and microservices for map ingestion, transformation, storage, and release.
