Title: Compensation Associate Manager

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Compensation Associate Manager plays a critical role in the operational execution and continuous improvement of Duck Creek Technologies’ global compensation programs, with limited responsibility for rewards program administration and reporting. This individual contributor role is responsible for day-to-day compensation operations, analysis, and administration, while contributing to select strategic initiatives related to job architecture, market pricing, pay structures, and rewards effectiveness. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy within established frameworks and partners closely with Total Rewards leadership, HR Business Partners, Finance, and People Operations to ensure compensation and rewards programs are applied consistently, compliantly, and in alignment with Duck Creek’s business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as first level operational resource for global compensation activities, including job evaluations, job matching, and market pricing.
  • Conduct job matching and leveling using established job architecture frameworks and external market data sources.
  • Analyze salary survey data and assess market trends to support pay structures, range design, and compensation recommendations.
  • Maintain and support global salary structures, pay ranges, and compensation guidelines.
  • Prepare and deliver ad hoc and recurring compensation reports, dashboards, and analyses to support business and leadership decision-making.
  • Support annual and off-cycle compensation planning processes, including data preparation, validation, audit controls, and documentation.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to provide compensation guidance on offers promotions, adjustments, and internal equity considerations.
  • Support global pay transparency requirements by ensuring accurate range data, documentation, and process adherence.
  • Perform compensation benchmarking exercises and external salary survey participation.
  • Provide administration support for global rewards programs, including tracking, reporting, and operational coordination with vendors or internal partners.
  • Monitor rewards program utilization and prepare summary reporting to assess effectiveness and alignment with program objectives.
  • Contribute to compensation and rewards-related projects and initiatives, including system enhancements, policy updates, training and process improvements.
  • Perform all other duties and activities as required.

Atlassian is seeking a highly experienced Director of Employment Law to be our first legal team hire in India. This pivotal role will shape and lead Atlassian’s employment law strategy in the region, partnering closely with global and local leaders. You will provide expert legal counsel on all workforce-related matters, ensure compliance with evolving regulations, and play a key role in scaling our India operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Atlassian’s primary legal advisor on all workforce matters in India, including labor relations, workforce management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build and lead the India employment law function, establishing best practices and scalable processes for a rapidly growing technology company.
  • Exhibit executive presence and influence, advising senior leadership and representing Atlassian with regulators, external counsel, and industry bodies.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders to positively represent the legal team brand.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Total Rewards, People Operations, and other business units to support strategic business initiatives and to resolve complex employment issues.
  • Proactively monitor legal and regulatory developments, ensuring Atlassian’s policies and practices remain compliant and industry-leading.
  • Develop and deliver training and guidance to business partners on employment law topics, risk mitigation, and compliance.
  • Support global legal projects and contribute to the maturity of Atlassian’s in-house legal capabilities.

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Be a qualified lawyer in India and in good standing.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in employment law, with significant in-house experience at a leading technology company or multinational corporation.
  • Deep expertise in Indian labor and employment law, with a proven track record of advising on complex, high-impact matters.
  • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to influence and build trust with senior leaders.
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills with strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Must be able to think strategically but also roll up sleeves and act tactically.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to produce high quality work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building or scaling legal functions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is highly desirable.
