KAYAK is seeking a highly-motivated Senior Specialist in Commercial Operations, who will support our commercial activities globally, advancing projects and initiatives as part of the Core Operations team unit, and supporting our account management with maintaining business relationships across airline, hotel, car and vacation clients.

To be successful you have a deep interest in consumer behavior, superior analytical skills and the ability to work closely with KAYAK’s stakeholders in engineering, product, and business operations teams. You are a self-starter and able to thrive in an agile, dynamic and data-driven environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Support operations team managers with foundational projects with scope to manage your own initiatives
  • Optimize, document and improve processes / tools and develop standard practices
  • Maintain ongoing updates of documentation used at KAYAK
  • Assess, plan and drive-through projects to benefit KAYAK’s product and users and enhance partner relationships
  • Develop strong relationships with the KAYAK commercial, analytics, engineering, finance, and business operations teams
  • Coordinate project efforts across the global commercial team and clearly communicate progress of projects and roadmap to internal stakeholders
  • Use data analysis and presentation tools to advance commercial priorities with other KAYAK teams
  • Become fluent in KAYAK systems and tools to support the wider Commercial team

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States located role is $70,000-$80,000.

Market Manager

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

 

Whether it’s hotels, rental cars, flights, cruises or packages, our Lines of Business develop the relationships we need to generate great deals and then get them to Priceline and Agoda customers  so they can experience all the moments that matter to them.

As a Market Manager, your key objective is to maintain and grow Priceline’s network of hotel partnerships and accommodation supply inventory through building, establishing and strengthening account relationships. The Market Manager uses their knowledge of the travel industry, and their experience in sales negotiation, revenue management and data analysis, to increase revenue by optimizing Priceline’s hotel partnerships. Additionally, as a Market Manager you will identify trends, optimize pricing, ensure content competitiveness, and use data to secure business wins that satisfy consumer demand and improve hotel bookings on Priceline.com and Agoda.com websites.

 

In this role you will get to:

  • Build strong hotel supplier relationships and effectively communicate Priceline and Agoda’s value proposition to grow bookings, room nights and revenue in assigned portfolio
  • Evaluate market trends, partner performance, and competitor landscape to ensure the competitiveness of Priceline and Agoda’s products
  • Analyze data to identify business growth opportunities across assigned portfolio
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of production with hotel accounts and present strategic recommendations to optimize Priceline and Agoda accommodation availability, content competitiveness and hotel performance, using a consultative approach
  • Prioritize, plan and implement effectively to meet/exceed defined targets and goals
  • Identify, prioritize, negotiate, contract and onboard non-participating hotels, ensuring favorable terms and conditions

  • Educate and train hotel partners on Priceline and Agoda systems, tools, programs and reporting

You will be based in our Norwalk office, but will be expected to work from our New York office as needed. Ideal candidates will have a passion for travel, experience optimizing ecommerce relationships, a desire for measuring and understanding end-user preferences, and the ability to create new user experiences that strikes a balance between revenue growth and mitigating operational risk.

 

You will use insights derived from numerous data sources and a touch of your own strategic thought processes to anticipate and precisely zero-in on improvement opportunities.  The travel marketplace evolves quickly and requires a continued understanding of commercial trends and new technologies to continuously align consumer preferences with risk management and revenue growth strategies.
