The Opportunity
The Caterpillar Graduate Leadership Development Program Summer Associate position is a 10-week summer internship for full-time MBA students. The summer internship is designed as a feeder into a full-time position in Caterpillar’s Graduate Leadership Development Program which seeks to develop future business leaders of Caterpillar.
Summer associates are tasked with one business project supporting key strategic initiatives such as services growth, digital transformation, operational excellence, or sustainability.
Program participants will have unique exposure to senior leaders in the organization and access to professional development opportunities. The GLDP will provide participants with an opportunity to chart their careers at Caterpillar and help them grow and add value to the organization, dealer network, and customer base.
The GLDP Summer Associate will support the business in:
- Developing high-quality strategic and financial recommendations by gathering and analyzing data from internal and external resources
- Leading projects of varied scope that span across businesses and functions
- Communicating strategic and financial recommendations and supporting data to senior executives and stakeholders to drive action
The candidate must also have, or be able to quickly develop:

Role Definition
- Provide sales operational support to Cat Financial Territory Managers and Caterpillar dealer finance and sales teams
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and timely quotes to Cat Financial Territory Managers and Caterpillar dealer Sales Teams.
- Analyze customer information and documents to ensure correct document preparation such as constitution, board resolutions and searches.
- Prepares transactions for documentation outside of booking system and provides casualty values and amortization schedules.

Marketing Strategist – Gas Compression
As a Marketing Strategist, you will lead and execute the marketing communications plan based on the global oil & gas business strategy. This role is supported by senior staff to help analyze business trends, customer needs and competitive activities to develop a marketing communications plan to support worldwide business development. A critical function of this position is the cooperation with internal and external MarCom specialists, delivering high quality marketing campaign materials on time and within budget. This role works directly with the sales, product, and dealer teams to develop communication objectives and marketing plans for our gas compression business.
Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and oversee omni channel marketing & communications strategy, media & communication plans, timelines, and budgets to deliver on the vision and business strategy.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Hydraulic Mining Shovels (HMS) Product Support Team as a Life Cycle Specialist where you can have a significant impact on our customers and dealers. In this position, you will ensure the overall health of the HMS aftermarket parts business by preventing unplanned downtime for our customers and having the right part in the right place at the right time.
You will also play a critical role in achieving targets that support Caterpillar’s services growth by executing strategies for all aspects of parts life cycle management. Daily work would include, but is not limited to, parts availability and inventory planning and analysis, reviewing machine down orders, leading or being a team member on projects, and responding to general/critical parts requests.
This position will work closely with those in the product group – HMS Engineering, Service Engineers, and Quality teams as well as have responsibility for both current and legacy products. You will also work across matrix organizations and collaborate with Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Go-to-Market Sales Teams, and Parts Pricing.
