As a Customer Retention Intern on the Customer Lifecycle Communications team, you will develop marketing communications that seek to reduce churn with a focus on targeted treatments in critical moments (e.g. price changes, move events, cancel intent) and execute  campaigns and programs utilizing omnichannel tactics associated with one-to-onecommunications.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

In your role, you will bring customer communications to life from initial kick off through launch. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Brand, MarTech, analytics, and legal) to ensure alignment & prioritization.

You’ll be working on distinct communications for our customers, driving value through product education and utilizationduringcritical lifecycle moments, ensuring customers are retained through strategic communication development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assistin the creative development of targeted communication for customers focused on churn reduction across a variety of marketing tactics (e.g.email, SMS, app)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment & prioritization of retention communications
  • Conduct A/B testing to improve program and campaign performance
  • Analyze performance analytics to continually refine the customer journey
  • Develop and present Power Point slides on campaign performance
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Organization & Team Overview

The Comcast Strategic Development (SD) department answers “what’s next” for Comcast by developing strategies to execute acquisitions, partnerships, and incubate new growth businesses. We identify, negotiate and manage strategic deals on behalf of the company. We also source, evaluate, and advocate for strategic investments and M&A opportunities that accelerate growth of our core business or secure footholds in emerging areas (i.e., AI).

 

Within SD, the AI Strategy & Transformation team isexciting and highly visible. The team is currently focusing on some of the most significant and high profile enterprise-wide initiatives, specifically the application of AI / ML and Generative AI for the company. By the nature of the team’s position and subject matter focus, the contributions from the Co-op will be presented to senior leaders incl. Sam Schwartz (Chief Business Development Officer) and Rick Rioboli (Chief Technology Officer), along with various senior leaders across Comcast, Sky, and NBCU. This Co-op will have the opportunity to shape how Comcast integrates AI into its businesses, influencing our trajectory for years to come.

 

The scope of this role includes identifying new AI growth opportunities, evaluating investment opportunities, answering key strategic questions, and supporting or driving high impact projects. This person will have the opportunity to interact with and present to leadership.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

The Co-op will help research the evolving AI / ML and Generative AI landscapes, and talk to / learn from startups and enterprises. Co-op will be charged with presenting analysis and insights, and will play a critical role in identifying and establishing hypothesis driven problem statements, quantifying / qualifying supporting details, business case building, and making concrete recommendations.

 

Our projects will provide the Co-op participant with subject matter expertise in a critical aspect of Comcast, as well as exposure to the AI ecosystem through numerous conversations with startups, enterprises, VC investors, and AI experts.We work in a highly collaborative fashion, with great efficiency. There will be ample opportunity to network within the department and externally across the AI ecosystem due to the nature of the work.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare various financial and valuation analyses, includes analyses of growth, profitability, returns, investments and cash flow with support from team members
  • Gathering data, draw conclusions from analysis and data to recommend next steps
  • Attend conferences, meet with experts, startups, tech enterprise etc. and share learnings or deal opportunities with the respective teams (Comcast Ventures, Business Product teams, etc.)

Role Description

You will partner with Site operators and engineers to collect baseline data, submit applications for incentives, and verify results. While your work will be project specific, you will be building the foundation for a scalable program. You’ll be working with the best and brightest minds in Comcast while we continue to improve energy efficiency and progress toward carbon neutrality. Success in this role is characterized by developing strong internal & external relationships, impeccable quality, and clear, succinct demonstration of results.

Community Impact empowers our communities by investing in local organizations, developing programs and partnerships, and mobilizing our resources to connect people and inspire positive and substantive change. The Impact and Inclusion department is responsible for managing the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, employee engagement initiatives, national partnerships, and community financial giving, with a significant focus on digital literacy.

Role Overview

This Impact & Inclusion Co-op is a multi-functional role within the Sponsorships team. The opportunity exists for a detail-oriented student with an interest in philanthropy and community involvement.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Sponsorships/Corporate Contributions. Impact & Inclusion sponsors hundreds of nonprofit events around the Greater Philadelphia Area each year with cash contributions. The co-op supports this through the following:

  • Assisting with the coordination of events, outreach, and logistics including communicating with our nonprofit partners
  • Lead the sponsored ad creation for applicable events working with internal team and 3rd party vendor
  • Managing the ticket exchange process with employees for certain Community Impact benefits received
  • Managing the corporate sponsorship events calendar
  • Supporting with sponsorship declines and referrals to our regional Comcast partners

Public Service Announcement (PSA)/In-Kind. In addition to cash contributions, Impact & Inclusion also offers PSA and other in-kind support to a variety of Impact & Inclusion partners. The co-op supports this through the following:

  • Reconciling PSA airtime with the monthly PSA schedule
  • Tracking PSA activity for scheduling and valuation accuracy
  • In-kind data collection for entry into SmartSimple (the Community Impact giving database)

Operations/Administration. Additionally, the co-op will support the following:

  • Assisting with Corporate Contributions, Foundation, Internet Essentials, and Accelerator grants payment processing
  • Ensuring funding eligibility and compliance by vetting various organizations through GuideStar and our internal database
  • Acting as a liaison between Community Impact and other business units throughout Comcast
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
