Your Responsibilities

 

As a Software Engineer for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will:

 

  • Operate within an Agile team and participates in all aspects of that team’s work;
  • Work within established guidelines such as coding standards, workflow, or tool standards;
  • Specialize in working on cloud computing systems and technologies;
  • Work with several other team members in the course of developing cloud software;
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

What Skills You Need

 

  • 1 year of experience in design, develop, and implement technical solutions aligned with business requirements using Java with Spring Boot and Python within a service-oriented architecture (SOA) leveraging RESTful services
  • 1 year of experience with practicing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Test Automation to ensure code quality and reliability including writing automated tests using JUnit and utilizing SonarQube for code quality assessments. Experience integrating testing into the development process, collaborating with QA teams, and continuously improving test coverage to support Agile principles of iterative development and frequent releases
  • 1 year of experience Agile development involving iterative cycles, cross-functional collaboration, and incremental delivery including practices like daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, using frameworks like Scrum, user story mapping, backlog grooming, estimation techniques, and prioritizing tasks based on value and feedback for timely customer value delivery
  • 1 year of experience with Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis utilizing Kibana for log analysis, debugging, and monitoring system performance to identify and resolve issues efficiently including analyzing logs, and visualizations in Kibana to pinpoint the root causes of problems, track system behavior, and ensure the reliability and stability of software applications
  • 1 year of experience utilizing JPA in Java applications for database interaction, defining entity classes, mapping entities to database tables, crafting JPQL queries, executing CRUD operations (Create, Read, Update, Delete), and grasping concepts such as entity managers, transactions, and entity relationships
  • 1 year of experience in proficient in SQL, adept at data querying, manipulation, and control for database operations, including record retrieval, creation, updating, and deletion, and experience with IBM’s DB2 focusing on concurrency control, recovery, backup utilities, and performance optimization
  • 1 year of experience in applying Engineering Principles utilizing GitLab for collaborative development, implementing fork-based workflows for parallel development, establishing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and conducting code reviews for quality. Experience with GitOps practices for managing infrastructure and deployments, design documentation, and scalability design patterns
  • 1 year of experience in ensure compliance with API specifications by addressing versioning, documenting APIs, implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms, and supporting multiple formats for data exchange including designing RESTful APIs with proper versioning strategies, documenting API endpoints using tools like Swagger, implementing authentication mechanisms such as OAuth or JWT, enforcing authorization rules, and supporting various data formats like JSON and XML for interoperability
  • 1 year of experience utilizing AWS services for scalability, reliability, and cloud deployment of the developed solutions

As a Part-Time Student Accounting Solutions for JD Finance located in Champaign, IL, you will:

 

  • Lead and/or support key data and analytics projects for the Accounting & Finance function.
  • Utilize analytics techniques to clean, preprocess, explore, and analyze data sets and extract actionable insights including providing visuals for end users.
  • Collaborate in a fun, friendly, and fast-paced team environment with key stakeholders to deliver data-driven financial solutions for the business.
