Head of D&T US Spirits and Marketing

Purpose of Role
This role has overall end to end accountability for D&T capabilities within US Spirits and Marketing to improve value for Diageo. By cultivating deep understanding of the business needs through strong local partnerships, you find opportunities for technology-enabled innovation and work multi-functionally to deliver on our commitments. You ensure change is successfully driven and embedded, leverage maximum benefit from existing solutions, and ensure live services are effectively handled. You play a key leadership role in the regional D&T team and have alignment to a functional remit to lead the regional strategic agenda. You play a role in integrating all D&T elements into a coherent view for customers ensuring value for Diageo and represent region up into Global Strategic and Value Stream forums as needed.
Market Complexity
D&T delivers products to all Diageo markets and functions. This role will sit on senior business forums and represent D&T delivery across the spectrum of capabilities. This often includes a portfolio of sophisticated geographic/ functional/ process/ system footprint.
Leadership Responsibilities & capabilities
Working closely with both the wider regional and global D&T teams to ensure optimal strategic and executional delivery of D&T into their market. The role requires a breadth of expertise to ensure proficient accountability and ensure high quality deliver of D&T for the market.
Financial Complexity
The Head of D&T will, depending on the market scale typically have indirect oversight of annual D&T budget of £10m+ systems and resources investment. While not directly accountable for the management of the budget will play a key role as primary customer ensuring the successful utilization of funds to achieve the market goals.

Business engagement and value realization:
- Single face of D&T engagement into the market with a true ‘seat at the table’, accountable for outcomes, make commitments and complete them as one D&T (within a WoW framework)
- Build deep relationships with and win ‘hearts and minds’ of Regional/Market leadership teams, such that he / she is seen as an influential leader in facilitating conversations to drive breakthroughs in business performances and in improving opportunities. The collaboration, partnership and leadership with the other Digital & Technology teams is pivotal to the delivery of vision, commitments, Market & Functional performance.
- Collaborate with market(s) to identify technology solutions that align with their strategic priorities and drive operational efficiency.
- Ensures overall value optimization of D&T for their market, considering new technology investments, adoption and usage of key systems as well as service excellence.
Strategy and execution:
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to provide technology insights and recommendations.
- Work closely with business units to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with the solution teams in respective value streams to successfully deliver the technology roadmap as per commitments.

- This is a senior role that works with senior partners within the market and across D&T and requires significant broad technology experience and customer management skills.

The Trade Marketing Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and execution of trade marketing strategies and initiatives. This role involves analyzing market data, tracking promotional activities, and providing insights to optimize sales performance and enhance brand presence in retail environments.

Chain Development Director West, U.S. Strategic Accounts
The Strategic Accounts Chain Development Director is responsible for crafting, aligning, and presenting market-level chain strategies to support the Annual Operating Plan across CA, WA, NE, AK, and HI. This role requires a collaborative approach, working cross-functionally with Diageo’s Performance Management/Business Development, Revenue Growth Management (RGM), Trade Development, Strategic Accounts, and CPWS teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial track record, deep critical thinking, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities and Impact
- Drive Market Connectivity: Foster strong alignment between division, distributor, and strategic accounts to achieve goals across the Open West region, with a primary focus on CA ($600m RSV) and WA ($115m RSV), contributing to a total Strategic Accounts RSV of $750m.
- Collaborate with Local Teams: Partner with local market teams to align behind the Strategic Accounts strategy, ensuring cohesive execution.
- Lead Chain Strategy Development: Orchestrate the development and execution of chain strategies for spirits, in close collaboration with Diageo’s West Division leadership.
- Focus on Growth: Align and execute plans to drive spirits volume, revenue growth, overall execution excellence in service of improving market share performance.
- Optimize Prioritization: Collaborate with Business Performance & Development and Revenue Growth Management teams to strategically allocate trade spend (scans) and local resources.

Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in distributor and chain management, ideally within the beverage alcohol industry.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Ohio Low Proof strategy to deliver the AOP and Nielsen Share.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in the Spirits industry managing forecasts, distributor execution, supply, allocations, innovation, and communication across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and communicate sales and distributor execution to key stakeholders
- Working cross-functionally with State Director, Supply, Sales, RGM, Activation, National Accounts, and On Premise
- Forecast, organize, and communicate innovation to local distributor teams
- Communicate with supply to anticipate opportunities and challenges
- Plan and communicate priorities to National and Regional Account Distributor KAMs- including developing priorities, presenting material, and developing relationships with key customers
- Distributor Partnership- Collaborate and align with distributor on programming, execution expectations, and develop a consistent business cadence
- National Account Programming- develop relationships with internal National Account teams and execute planner programming, innovation, and new distribution
