Group Product Marketing Manager, Advertising Solutions (Quests)

We’re looking for a strategic and visionary Group Product Marketing Manager to help us build and scale our new advertising solution, Quests. As the Product Marketing lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining the strategy and roadmap for Quests and bringing it to market. You’ll work hand in hand with our Sales and Product teams to scale processes as our team continues to grow.

This is a manager position with 2 direct reports to start.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for our advertising solution (Quests) in partnership with the product and sales leaders.
  • Lead core product marketing for Quests, defining the value propositions, positioning, messaging, and naming for our solutions, directly owning all key marketing surfaces such as the website, pitch deck, blog, help center, and internal wiki.
  • Drive measurement and attribution strategy and roadmap, in partnership with the Marketing Science team.
  • Accelerate adoption and growth of our solution by driving the go-to-market strategy, including developing comprehensive sales enablement and training programs.
  • Partner with the Business Marketing team to elevate Discord’s voice and thought leadership in the advertising, crafting narratives and messaging for our events and industry engagements.
  • Champion the voice of the customer across the organization and foster a customer-obsessed culture at every level.

What you should have:

  • 8+ years of Product Marketing experience in the advertising space, ideally within scaled ad platforms.
  • 4+ years of experience in mobile performance or gaming advertising.
  • Deep understanding of the advertising space, including digital advertising ecosystems, ad tech platforms, and media buying strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to streamline and optimize the sales enablement process.
  • Excel in ambiguous environments – excited about building new processes, business models and building an advertising business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $218,000 to $240,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Senior Data Scientist, Analytics – Platform Ecosystem

Discord is seeking an experienced and passionate data scientist to join our world-class Data Science & Analytics team! This role is a Senior Data Scientist position on the Platform Ecosystem team. The Platform Ecosystem team is a collaborative, cross-functional team, chartered with building Discord’s app platform. The org’s responsibilities include, building tools for third-party developers to create remarkable experiences on Discord, developing first-party experiences for friends to hangout, and aiding users in discovering and integrating these experiences to their own communities. What you’ll be doing

  • Partner with teams throughout Discord through the full lifecycle of data analytics from ideation and exploratory analysis, to building dashboards and reports, and A/B testing
  • Define KPIs and diagnostic metrics that help improve the user experience, encapsulating these measures in clean crisp dashboards that provide the company with timely and actionable information
  • Use our amazing infrastructure to quickly and easily build custom data sets to monitor novel product features and processes
  • Proactively socialize insights, dashboards, and reports with technical and non-technical audiences, soliciting feedback on where to improve
  • Be a champion of A/B testing and help groups throughout the company design, analyze, and interpret A/B tests correctly
  • Collaborate with data and engineering teams to design scalable and future-proof instrumentation

What you should have

  • 4+ years of experience autonomously translating ambiguous business problems into deep informative insights through hands-on analytics
  • 4+ years of experience building performant dashboards using Tableau, Looker, or similar software – with proficiency in designing clean crisp visualizations
  • 3+ years experience writing performant and efficient SQL
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complicated findings or technical approaches in easy-to-understand ways
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, analysis, and interpretation of A/B tests in a large data environment
  • A desire to work with amazing, passionate people who care deeply about solving challenging problems to improve Discord
  • Last but not least – a collaborative attitude and a healthy dose of natural curiosity!

Bonus Points

  • Passion for Discord and/or online communities
  • Experience with analytics for social media or gaming, including familiarity with concepts such as virality, re-engagement, cohort analysis, funnel analysis, etc
  • Experience with user growth concepts such as acquisition, engagement and retention

Head of Lifecycle Marketing

We are looking for a Head of Lifecycle Marketing to drive the next phase of Discord’s growth across players, publishers, and developers. In this role, you will build, develop, and execute comprehensive growth and lifecycle marketing strategies, working cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Marketing teams. This role is integral to helping identify the right strategies to impact acquisition, engagement, and retention efforts and execute and bring them to life.

You will thrive in this role if you’re highly data-driven, excel at identifying unique growth opportunities, and are passionate about bridging the gap between customer insights and quantitative analysis. This is a hands-on, player-coach role where you will build and lead, eventually growing a team of growth marketers over time. This role reports to our Head of Marketing.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building our lifecycle marketing strategy. Develop and implement lifecycle marketing strategies rooted in the customer journey, with an initial focus on our player audience.
  • Identifying new pathways for growth at Discord. Identify and evaluate new opportunities for growth across paid and owned channels, building strong business cases and justifications for investment across all our key audiences.
  • Own & Execute the Growth Roadmap: Lead the creation and execution of growth marketing roadmaps, identifying key technical tools, resources, and innovative approaches to unlock growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams to identify and deliver the technical requirements needed to support growth initiatives.
  • Data-driven optimization. Leverage quantitative insights to optimize the customer journey, working closely with research and data science to pinpoint opportunities and eliminate gaps.

What you should have

  • Growth & lifecycle expertise. 12+ years of experience in marketing with a strong focus on growth and lifecycle marketing. Media buying experience is nice to have, but not strictly required.
  • Strong technical ability. Proven ability to work closely with Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to shape and implement marketing technologies.
  • Balanced Decision-Making: A strong grasp of quantitative data coupled with excellent judgment to refine strategies and ask the right questions.

Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance

We are seeking a passionate and experienced senior financial analyst to join our growing Finance team. The Corporate Finance team is responsible for various functions – including planning, forecasting, reporting, capital markets activities, financial systems, and partnership with our Total Rewards team on compensation planning and forecasting. Reporting to our Head of Corporate Finance, you will play a key role on our Corporate Finance team while partnering across the finance team, the accounting team, and the company. This role will be responsible for some of our key company-facing processes, including –  partnership with our Total Rewards team, ownership of our financial planning tool, and ownership of internal reporting processes. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborate with our Total Rewards team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making for our compensation budgets

  • Drive our internal reporting processes, including coordination across finance and shaping our financial narrative for executives and other internal stakeholders

What You Should Have

  • 3+ years of related experience (e.g., Investment banking, FP&A, management consulting)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, working exceptionally well cross-functionally and with multiple constituents
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate financial results and narrative to a variety of audiences
  • Understanding of financial planning and accounting concepts, equity and stock-based compensation a plus
