Job Description:

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for the management of the overall leave and accommodation process.
  • Provides information, interpretation, guidance and consultation on escalations that may arise as a result of a leave or accommodation.
  • Collects, organizes, interprets, and verifies internal customer needs and translates them into business policies, procedures and practices.
  • Responsible for vendor oversight on all cases to ensure program compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies.
  • Enhances the overall leave of absence and accommodation customer experience by providing excellent, efficient, and courteous service.
  • Manages day to day vendor activities including data governance and quality initiatives.
  • People Accommodations and Leave Support Specialist actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

How You’ll Do It

  • Effectively manages highly complex leave and accommodation escalated cases from all levels within the organization and Human Resources. Responsible for all aspects of complex ADA processes and outcomes including interactive dialogue with employee, manager, and Employee Relations representative. Partners closely with vendor, manager, Employee Relations, and Legal (as needed) to evaluate and research issues regarding complex leave and accommodation cases.
  • Serves as a resource to management in addressing leave and accommodation matters. Coaches and provides guidance to non-exempt team members regarding standard leave and accommodation cases. Strengthens alignment between Discover and vendor processes to achieve greater efficiency and lasting effectiveness. Engages in status calls with vendors to monitor metrics and improve quality. Standardize communication methods between Discover (employee, manager, and HR) and vendors to improve response time and quality. Meets regularly with vendors to identify root causes of case management errors, address gaps and improve processes.
  • Responsible for auditing leave records to ensure accuracy; resolving escalated payroll inquiries and work closely with payroll to ensure LOA components of employee pay is accurate. Responsible for ensuring PTO, PPL and leave time is properly reflected in timekeeping system through regular audits.
  • Leads ongoing procedure development and maintenance to ensure compliance with legal and DFS standards. Responsible for maintaining central repository of all internal and vendor related documentation. Responsible for assessing and improving leave and accommodation related content on myHR as well as correspondence with vendor. Drives consistency in HR approach and practices within various locations. Identifies process improvement opportunities, both internally and externally, and moves them into production. Participates in cross-functional process improvement initiatives and projects to drive the achievement of business results.

 

Qualifications You’ll Need
The Basics

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years in Human Resources or related HR function (including Employee Relations, HR Shared Services, Training, HR Generalist, etc.)
  • 2 years in Customer Service, Communications, or related

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $60,000.00 to $93,200.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.   • Handles communication with customers and performs a variety of functions focused on completing applications for applicants.
  • During that communication proactively sells the loan to the customer along with other benefits.
  • Ensures that all portions of the application are accurate to help identify and then eliminate potential risks for the business.
  • Helps drive applications to completion to increase receivables.
  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Responsible for research and analysis that aid in the evaluation of pricing strategies and solutions that drive revenue yield and the advancement of pricing infrastructure. Manages and grows revenue yield thru research and conduction of pricing analysis that ensure account-level and program level profitability as well as monitoring of current strategy or pricing proposal performance. Works with internal departments to ensure initiatives and strategies are implemented and communicated properly using competitive pricing practices, the drivers of the revenue, rates and fees for a wide variety of external client/customer types as well as an ability to identify details and cross functional implications. Aids in the evaluation of a pipeline of pricing initiatives and requests under evaluation for review and approval ensuring requests are evaluated in a consistent and rigorous manner and that all audit, risk and governance requirements are met. Works across all functions to contribute to various strategy efforts, pricing systems enhancements and other initiatives designed to grow in designated area
  • Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

  • Performs thorough, detailed and precise financial and mathematical analysis or visual representations of policy, volume and revenue performance to support business initiatives.
