ABOUT THE TEAM: Disney+ Hotstar’s Subs & Paym team is pioneering flexible subscription plans and seamless payment options. We’re building a cutting-edge subscription platform to rapidly introduce new plans and drive substantial revenue growth through global subscriber expansion. Our continuous innovations include targeted coupons, free trials, sampling content, and integrations with leading payment gateways such as Google, Razor, Phonepe, Adyen, Billdesk, Payu, and Paytm. Collaborations with key partners like Airtel, JIO, Tataplay, and others are enhancing user experience and delivering value to both our company and customers.
REPORTING TO: Engineering Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and construct robust, secure, and scalable microservices to support Hotstar applications, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and performance
- Implement RESTful services integrated with a metric-driven API Gateway to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of application interfaces
- Ensure rapid server response times, striving for sub-second latency, and implementing various data storage solutions. This includes relational databases, document stores, key-value stores, object stores, graph databases, index stores, and messaging systems as required by the project
- Take ownership of the management and maintenance of Cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security
- Continuously research and evaluate emerging technologies and tools, playing a key role in influencing and steering architecture and design discussions to keep systems at the forefront of innovation and efficiency
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
- Proficient in Java and golang, Knowledge of Spring and hibernate frameworks
- Demonstrated expertise in developing RESTful APIs, with a focus on monitoring, fault tolerance, and metrics. Familiarity with tools like Hystrix is advantageous
- Strong experience with various databases including MySQL and NoSQL databases such as Aurora, Redis, and DynamoDB
- Skilled in implementing server-side services using technologies like ElasticSearch and ESB, with knowledge in Camel and ActiveMQ
- Hands-on experience with the AWS stack, including various AWS services and functionalities
- Good knowledge of Kafka and Sqs
