2024-2025 Campus Internship – Information Systems/Information Technology

Dow has internship opportunities during the summer of 2025 within its Information Systems/Information Technology organization for individuals who are within one or two years of graduation and are currently enrolled in a university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field. The internships will be located in one of the global IT centers in Midland, MI or Houston, TX. The duration of these internships is typically 12 weeks.
Interns will be involved in projects that are critical to moving forward Dow’s IT Strategy and digitally transforming the organization. They will support critical business and technical needs for Dow business, research, and manufacturing functions around the world in a variety of process & technology areas including but not limited to artificial intelligence/machine learning, analytics, SAP, mobile, web and/or desktop application development, cloud architectures and contemporary security solutions.
Interns will be involved in one or more of the following:
- Systems Solutions: Planning, designing, creating and implementing enterprise-wide or business specific technology and solutions. Managing change, delivering corporate-wide technology upgrades, minimizing risks, and enhancing employee productivity through increased familiarity with the capabilities we provide.
- Information Security: Preserving the integrity of Dow information and containing problems before they have an impact. Safeguarding ideas, protecting our data, network and equipment from intrusions before they begin.
- Service Management and Business I/S: Ensuring all Dow employees have the technology tools they need to be productive. Listening to our stakeholders – employees, suppliers and customers – and using that information to propel Dow forward.
- Operations: Ensuring that everything from the Dow network to the Dow intranet is stable and working smoothly.
- IT Technology Architecture: Researching and designing the information technology platform to enhance productivity at Dow. Testing the theories, enhancing the concepts, and exploring future information technology opportunities.
The incumbent may work together with support personnel from the United States; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Mumbai, India; and Shanghai, China, as well as, clients from any other Dow global location.

Qualifications:
- Must be within one or two years of graduation and currently enrolled in a university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related technical field. Preferred degrees in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related degrees.

Senior Operations Leader
About you and this role:
As the Senior Operations Leader, you will share responsibility and accountability for plant personnel, assets and achievement of the plant related site, business, and corporate goals. Provides leadership to the plant operations team which includes both professional individual contributors and administrative, technical and / or operational supports employees. Acts as the primary back-up to the Production Leader. Has accountability for the performance and results of the team. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with the Production leader to drive a strong personal safety, process safety, and environmental improvement plan to achieve EH&S goals and ensure compliance with regulatory and permit requirements.
- Supports Production Leader to provide motivation, explanation, context, and communication purpose of messages to the empowered organization.
- Develops operation employees and ensures career success via goal-setting, performance management, promotion processes, and employee development plan.
- Knows the business model and strategy for facility. Explains to operations how the plant fits into the business and corporation.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (i.e. engineering, manufacturing or related)

For positions based in California, Dow is required by law to include the pay scale that is reasonably expected to represent the salary range for the position. This salary range is specific to the State of California and accounts for both new and experienced employees with consideration to factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, and sustained job performance (or similar jobs).
A reasonable salary range for this position is: $120,000– $213,600.
This job is eligible for an additional 18% geographic differential associated with the California location and this position.

Production Engineer
Serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products. Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within job discipline. Performs routine assignments and solves standard problems using existing procedures. Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience.
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Works closely with the operations team leveraging their problem solving skills and technical expertise.
- Elevates and appropriately applies knowledge of the plant and technology referencing historical data and conferring with Technology Center or other subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Ensures Most Effective Technology (MET) is understood and utilized and that process automation is used as a tool to optimize plant performance.
- Utilizes defined MET and challenges/escalates MET application and assumptions when better solutions arise.
- Partners with experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve and document operating discipline.
- Diagnoses and documents root causes of asset utilization losses in the facility.
- Understands why specific procedure steps and precautions are needed and keeps a strong field presence to reinforce the importance.
- Conducts daily review of logbook and alarm history to better understand the plant operation and stay engaged with daily activities.
- Maintains, owns, and reviews daily Key Process Indicators (KPI)/ trends to ensure optimum performance.
- Responds urgently to plant issues and emergencies.
- Acts as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drives implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Provides leadership, expertise, diagnosis, and optimization in plant Raw Material Efficiency, which may include yield or waste generation.
- Ensures compliance with plant operating permits. Understands site integration and provides input to optimize the overall system.

Process Technician
About you and this role
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Process Technician in Seadrift, Texas.
The purpose of this job is to operate assigned equipment or areas of the plant and perform operations related activities per the work process, utilize chemical manufacturing knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner, work in a team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision. This is a 24 hour operation and will require the ability to work 12 hour shifts during the day and at night on a rotating basis.
Responsibilities
- Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas
- Operate and field check process equipment
- Monitor process conditions, equipment and control systems
- Perform tasks assigned to operations as per a standard task list including field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.
- Ensure operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals
- Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems and maintain equipment reliability
- Initiate and participate in Root Cause Investigations as required
- Coach and train others on plant operations
- Perform immediate response activities and manage unplanned events
- Use process knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant performance and Operating Discipline
- Use measurements and tools to operate the Plant at optimum conditions
- Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance, utilizing appropriate processes and disciplines
- Manage multiple and complex plant computer control systems
- Perform all duties with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
- Operator a forklift/fork truck.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent AND one of the following is required.
- Associates degree or higher in Process Technology (or related degree). Dow will consider those with 3 or more years of relevant military experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3 or more years of experience as an Operations Technician in a Chemical, Oil and Gas or Manufacturing environment.
- Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Able to work night and weekends as required.
- Have a current, valid US drivers license.
