- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documentation: blueprints, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical components and systems (drives, bearings, gears, pneumatics, and hydraulics) with demonstrated ability to make practical application for troubleshooting and continual improvement efforts.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of preventative maintenance practices (balance, alignment, and lubrication).
- Strong proficiency in Progressive Maintenance daily management systems: Work planning and Scheduling, Breakdown Elimination
- Strong proficiency in the use and application of SAP to access, update, and create maintenance standards.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible shifts and work up to a (12) hour shift.
- Must be able to read and write as well as have a basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) in order to complete required reports.
- Must possess the analytical ability to understand safety hazards.
- Must be able to manually lift with both hands up to 50lbs. from floor level to waist level or vice-versa at least 3 times per shift.
- Must possesses the physical stamina to walk, stand, stoop or bend up to 100% of shift
- Must be able to communicate with leadership, mechanics and co-workers for safety, quality and production concerns.

Responsibilities
E&I technicians do various types of work, including but not limited to the following:
- Make electrical repairs to run high-speed equipment.
- Execution of planned maintenance tasks.
- Perform preventive/predictive maintenance on equipment.
- Get involved, take charge of situations, and confront business-related problems.
- Display electrical skills in manufacturing processes, including operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated equipment.

- Use basic hand and power tools.
- Lift 50 pounds by bending and stooping; climb, stand, and move around on stairs, ladders, and platforms.

Qualifications

PS P&E-Materials and Product Delivery Engineer
Job Description
This position is for a Technical Engineer (Junior Manager) that will be responsible for new initiative validation, material cost savings delivery, roll-out/reapplication package validation, and supplier quality improvements in the LaGrange manufacturing site. The work requires partnering closely with Global R&D, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure a seamless delivery of projects into the LaGrange site. This individual will lead new product and material cost savings projects including trial planning, execution, and summary documentation. Another avenue of work requires collaborating with Procurement and Global R&D to lead new supplier qualifications as part of on-going business continuity planning (BCP) and cost structure innovation. In order to do this work effectively, a close understanding is needed of the operations to identify current material losses and communicate with the material suppliers to help improve processes internally and at the supplier.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing verification of new design innovation lead line/systems (trial ownership)
- Deliver Roll-out / Reapplication qualifications and manufacturing verification for new design innovations
- Management of trial execution readiness on-site, partnering with other site resources
- Improve data visibility and summarization of data to create concise insights and drive meaningful decisions
- Technical support for plant technicians in partnership with Operations Process Engineer
- Execute material cost innovation partnering with Global R&D and Purchasing
- Business Continuity Plan (BCP) qualification & validation for site materials
- Create strong relationships with suppliers and work with them to identify opportunity areas and revise specifications when needed to eliminate manufacturing losses
- Effectively develop procedures and technical documents
- Analyze streams of process/vision system data and subsequently identify root cause and systemically eliminate manufacturing losses
- Interpersonal skills to effectively influence and do work across organizational boundaries including contractors, plant personnel, and Global R&D and Process & Engineering personnel.
- Ability to plan and execute multiple projects/activities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent work experience.

- Preferred, experience with root cause analysis and systemic loss elimination (process-driven defect elimination a plus)
- Process Control Strategy and statistical process control experience a plus.
