Senior Financial Analyst – Enterprise Launch Specialist

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

 

The  Enterprise Launch Specialist  team partners with all functions of the organization to provide enterprise savings for increased profitability.  The organization is currently focused on two initiatives: manufacturing cost and part number/complexity reduction.  The team has a direct impact on shaping our business to be successful both financially and strategically.

 

Finance Analysts within the  Enterprise Launch Specialist  team are responsible for financial analysis, and development of business cases for strategic projects to quantify enterprise profitability.  Projects frequently have high exposure to Senior Finance, Manufacturing, and Product Development Executives.

Successful team members in this role are highly motivated, results driven individuals that pose strong analytic and technical skills. They execute strategic initiatives that drive higher corporate profitability and partner with global cross-functional teams.

 

Responsibilities

  • Utilize pertinent financial data from multiple sources and perspectives to inform decisions
  • Develop and utilize financial modeling techniques to evaluate business opportunities using sensitivity and scenarios to quantify risks and opportunities

Mechanical Journeyperson (Toolmaker) – Orion Assembly

General Motors has a need for qualified Mechanical Journeypersons (Toolmakers). You will work under minimal supervision with a high level of independent judgement and problem solving. You should be flexible enough to take on and tackle multiple job assignments in a shift.

 

Preferred Experience Includes:

  • Experience with planned maintenance systems and predictive technologies
  • Experience with industrial robotics, automation, and conveyance systems
  • Follow established safety procedures according to OSHA standards and company procedures
  • Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical and hydraulic components (e. g. bearings, seals, details, carriers, etc.) on industrial machinery such as shafting, motors, generators, air compressors, engines, pumps, cylinders, gears, couplings, linkages, ball screws, high speed CNC spindles, coolant systems and filters, and combustion equipment and valves
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems
  • Use various hand or power tools for measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, soldering, assembling, joining, and installing pipes, valves, and fittings
  • Read and interpret blueprints for the mechanical operation and assembly of conveyor systems, material handling systems, robots, and other automation
  • Operate mobile equipment (e.g. forklifts, vertical lifts, cranes)
  • Determine loading requirements to rig equipment and material for lifting
  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
  • Fabricate punches, tools, steel rule tools and t-sets to exact specifications
  • Plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools or assemblies using blueprints, sketches, or models
  • Determine quality of finished products, ensuring defect-free parts, by verifying dimensions, alignment, and clearances for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators

Principal Cloud Data Engineer – Vehicle Data

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Austin, TX, Warren, MI, or Roswell, GA three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days].

 

The Role

 

The Vehicle Data Engineering team is seeking an accomplished professional with a proven track record of building large scale data platforms on cloud environments.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in high throughput data streaming platforms, data storage / file system architectures, data security and governance, as well as enabling data consumption patterns for data scientists and business users.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and development of migrating GMs on prem vehicle data systems to cloud environments
  • Design data solutions around current and future data security and privacy requirements
  • Work with data engineers and data scientists to create (or leverage an existing) MLOps framework that allows seamless deployment, scaling, maintenance, and monitoring of ML Models
  • Train and mentor staff engineers in cloud development principles and emerging data engineering technologies
  • Focus on continuous improvement of GM’s data ecosystems and lead prioritization of technical initiatives to that end
  • Influence decision makers, both technical and executive, on technology strategy and adoption
  • Influencing technology selection and helping to design a cellular (partititioned) data architecture

  • 10+ years of experience building and operating scalable and reliable platforms
