Summary:

Hitachi America, Ltd. (www.hitachi-america.us) is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager with a strong background in tax provision and tax compliance for a large multinational consolidated group to join the Tax Department located in Santa Clara, CA. The Senior Tax Manager will possess in-depth knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and financial reporting standards. The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for preparing the consolidated tax provision and managing the tax compliance function of the tax department, including, but not limited to, reviewing all the federal, state, and local corporate tax workpapers and returns, interfacing with tax authorities, researching tax subject matters, and managing tax projects.

 

This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage complex tax issues, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the tax provision preparation process and completion of accurate and timely reporting for a large multinational consolidated group in according to the International Accounting Standards.
  • Prepare the quarterly and annual consolidated tax provision including true-ups, calculation of current and deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowance analysis.
  • Oversee the preparation and review the annual tax provision and true-ups for tax shared service companies.
  • Oversee the preparation and review consolidated, sub-consolidated and single corporate entities’ federal, combined states, and separate state and local income tax workpapers and returns, quarterly tax estimates, and return extensions.
  • Review quarterly intercompany tax allocations.
  • Review proforma federal and state tax returns for final intercompany tax allocations.
  • Manage U.S. controlled group activities and data collection.
  • Represent company in tax audits and manage tax notices.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to tax team members on tax provision and compliance.
  • Develop best practices and processes for tax department to ensure project completion effectively and efficiently.
  • Conduct technical research and provide recommendation on tax issues.
  • Assist Senior Tax Director with various tax projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Taxation. Master of Science’s degree in Taxation and CPA certification preferred.
  • We require progressive corporate tax experience in multinational consolidated tax compliance and financial reporting. A combination of Big 4 public accounting and large multinational corporation tax department experience is preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Thomson Reuters OneSource corporate tax software and Microsoft Office application, particularly Excel.
  • Up to date knowledge on tax law changes per the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, CARES Act and Inflation Reduction Act.
  • Strong understanding of multinational and multi-state corporate tax laws
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to specific business situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead others and enhance teamwork environment.

 

For California only (as required by California’s Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $140,000 – 180,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America’s variable pay program, subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.

Tax Manager

Summary:

Hitachi America, Ltd. (www.hitachi-america.us) is seeking a Tax Manager to join the Tax Department located in Santa Clara, CA. The Tax Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate tax filing requirements, managing Senior Tax Accountant, interfacing with taxing authorities, researching issues, and managing tax projects as assigned.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the consolidated corporate federal and combined state income tax returns, quarterly tax estimates, and return extensions.
  • Prepare the quarterly and annual tax provisions, annual true-ups, and DTA valuation allowance analysis.
  • Prepare the tax provision forecasts and cash flow analysis.
  • Prepare quarterly intercompany tax allocations.
  • Manage the controlled group data collections and calculations.
  • Coordinate the R&D credit calculation with Hitachi group companies.
  • Prepare the transfer pricing adjustments and support consultants with local file preparation for parent company in Japan.
  • Provide information to external consultants for IFRIC 23 analysis.
  • Manage and review all aspects of U.S. and Canadian federal, state, and local sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, GST/HST, excise tax and other tax filings prepared by Senior Tax Accountant.
  • Manage sales and use tax planning opportunities and tax impacts of changes in business operations and acquisitions.
  • Respond to tax notices and represent company in tax audits.
  • Conduct technical research and provide recommendation on tax issues.
  • Assist in various tax projects as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting or Taxation. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

Summary:

 

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales to drive our North American Stationary Air Compressor sales strategy.  This leadership role involves managing the North American sales team while cultivating strong relationships with our existing Distribution Channel partners and installed customer base.  As the Director of Sales, you will have the capacity to hold the team accountable to achieve aggressive targets through a well-defined sales approach while balancing the individual needs of the distribution sales and service network across our entire stationary product portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market share growth.
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to inform product management and sales approaches.
  • Lead, mentor and develop high-performing sales team, providing coaching and support to Regional Sales Managers, Strategic Account Managers and Product Field Sales Specialists
  • Set clear, achievable expectations, sales goals, and progress evaluation cadence to help coach and drive individual and team performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships internally across functional departments and externally across the distribution channel to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Collaborate with the distribution network to develop joint business plans and promotional activities aligned with the overall HGAP business strategy.
  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics across the team and channel partners; adjust strategies when necessary to improve performance and achieve growth.

  • Own the sales process end-to-end to ensure development of the team and achievement of growth objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field.  Will consider equivalent sales leadership experience; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience leading an industrial equipment salesforce across functions, with emphasis on driving growth through distribution channel.
  • Industrial equipment experience required; Air compressor sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a strong sales process and business acumen with a proven track record of achievement.
  • Direct compressor sales and systems design experience is a distinct advantage for the right candidate.
