Renewals Account Manager

The Renewals Account Manager collaborates with Sales to oversee the renewal process for their account base across one territory or more. Typically, in this role you are responsible for a variety of larger, more complex accounts/territories in partnership with Field Sales.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Negotiate all facets of renewal contracts using sound business judgment. Develop and deliver win/win negotiation strategies that maximize contract value while protecting and enhancing the customer relationship and the value they are realizing from HashiCorp.

Develop and maintain precise renewal forecasts by collaborating closely with Sales teams, identifying risks early, and implementing solutions to ensure alignment on renewal strategies and the achievement of key business metrics.

Identify customer needs and demonstrate solid account management capabilities to drive on-time renewal closure.

Maintain a good comprehension of HashiCorp licensing models to provide both sales and customers assistance in licensing discussions.

Monitor customer health metrics to proactively identify and communicate risks. Work cross functionally to develop risk mitigation strategies and drive appropriate actions with partner teams.

Work with wider team to provide regular and accurate updates on renewal status to management and advance as appropriate.

Engage customers in conversations around renewal readiness, timing and general customer needs.

Connect with customers on multi-year contracts via direct and indirect communication to ensure continued involvement and customer value realization.

Create and present renewal proposal(s) and options to customers and advise customers of upcoming contract expiration.

Work with Legal, Deals Desk and Sales Operations to resolve complex issues regarding approval and finalization of executable order form.

Partner with our Customer Success organization to review customer value achievement in order to achieve customer product adoption and high utilization.

About the team:

HashiCorp, now part of IBM is looking for its next Marketing Director for Global Events and Corporate Programs. The company has grown rapidly to be the leading global provider of multi/hybrid-cloud solutions for infrastructure and security devops automation and these solutions now sit at the heart of the cloud strategy for many of the world’s largest companies. This position will play a central role in defining the strategy and execution for the programs at the heart of how we most efficiently continue to create and accelerate new sales opportunities.

What You’ll Do

In this position you will be directly responsible for multiple teams at the forefront on the HashiCorp global revenue marketing strategy.

Events: HashiCorp is an active sponsor of many events around the world, including the highest level of AWS re:Invent sponsorship for the past two years. This role will have direct responsibility for managing the team leading the execution of these events.

Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Marketing: Connected to many of these events is a broader co-marketing / co-selling strategy with primary CSPs. This position will also have responsibility for defining and executing this strategy so as to remain tightly aligned with those organization’s GTM motion.

Account Based Marketing (ABM): HashiCorp conducts 1:1 ABM tactics for our highest potential accounts. This position will also be managing the team responsible for ABM and should have a strong point of view on best practices and how to assess performance of these tactics.

Executive Marketing: HashiCorp senior executives spend much of their time directly with customers and this role will also be responsible for determining how to maximize the value of these engagements to support the GTM engine for the company.

This role will report directly to the VP of Revenue Marketing and will be a member of the extended marketing leadership team.

The Event Experience Design [Brand Studio] team at HashiCorp is made up of multi-disciplinary, highly talented collaborative designers. Our team sits within the Marketing organization at HashiCorp, partnering closely with peers across all Marketing departments.

We are responsible for leading creative across all of our field marketing events (custom and turn-key exhibits), large internal events (Sales kickoff, etc.) and proprietary events (HashiConf & HashiDays).
