Director of Research @ Instagram: Public Sharing Responsibilities:

  • Develops and provides strategy, vision, and direction to team managers and individual contributors

  • Contributes to community through sponsoring and championing organizational efforts to build and sustain diversity, culture, recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and/or development programs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or significant experience conducting UX research with meaningful business impact
  • 18+ years of experience conducting research post-Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years directly managing, coaching and developing full-time researchers
  • 5+ years experience managing managers
  • Experience directly conducting primary research (either qualitative or quantitative) end-to-end (i.e., designing, fielding, analyzing and reporting out data)
  • Experience building teams over time through hiring, growing, and retaining high-performing researchers
  • Experience building and setting research strategy that connects with business strategy
  • Track record of translating research into business impact
  • Experience working with a variety of cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., product managers, data scientists, designers, engineers, policy, communications, marketing)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer products, consumer insights, or product development
  • 5+ years of UX research experience
  • Experience with startup environments or new app development

Data Science Director, Instagram Sharing

We’re looking for Instagram’s Data Science lead for the Sharing Product Group, which is responsible for Instagram Stories, Direct messaging, Notes, broadcast sharing products like Feed and Reels creation, and overseeing the app’s rich creator ecosystem. The Director of Data Science is directly responsible for managing the data science team to ensure proper goaling, experimentation, and forecasting and to develop insights that identify the biggest opportunities for the Instagram community and drive overall group strategy. Additionally, this leader is responsible for leadership development with Sharing analytics to ensure the org has capacity to further scale. This leader will serve on Instagram’s core analytics leadership circle to help improve cross-Instagram Analytics team processes such as recruiting, training, and performance management, and will work closely with leadership across the app. You will enjoy working with one of the richest data sets in the world, cutting edge technology, and the ability to see your insights turned into real products on a regular basis. Data Science Director, Instagram Sharing Responsibilities

Data Engineer, Analytics (Technical Leadership)

Data Engineer, Analytics (Technical Leadership) Responsibilities
  • Proactively drive the vision for data foundation and analytics to accelerate building and improvement of cross platform components across Instagram, and define and execute on plan to achieve that vision.
  • Conceptualize and own the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems.
  • Create and contribute to frameworks that improve the efficacy of logging data, while working with data infrastructure to triage issues and resolve.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
  • Define and manage SLA for all data sets in allocated areas of ownership.
