As a Executive Director in the Natural Resources team within Wholesale Credit Risk EMEA, you will be covering clients across a broad range of industries including Oil & Gas, Metals and Mining, Chemicals, Pulp Paper & Packaging, Building Materials, Utilities and Commodity Trading. You will work closely with business partners across the region including Debt Capital Markets, Acquisition and Leveraged Finance, M&A, Corporate Bank, Markets (including the Global Commodities Group) , Treasury Services and Trade Finance.
Job responsibilities
- Manage pro-active credit exposure and steer deal teams (comprised of more junior credit colleagues as well as senior business partners) to ensure that transactions are structured to ensure an acceptable risk / reward balance to J P Morgan Chase.
- Approving the extension of credit to clients across the full rating spectrum through all products provided by J P Morgan Chase , and escalating effectively and early transactions which are outside of your approval authority
- Act strategically, anticipating emerging issues and then personally driving appropriate actions that mitigate the impact to J P Morgan Chase
- Promote a robust risk and control environment including by partnering with and influencing business colleagues at senior levels across a variety of areas within the Corporate & Investment Bank and CCBSI, product specialists, Markets (Derivative Sales), Capital Markets and Merger & Acquisition(M&A).
- Bear deep knowledge of relevant legal documentation and will use this as part of your holistic risk management of clients / transaction along with understanding of J.P. Morgan’s Risk management policies and related interactions with various stakeholders (including Regulators and Auditors).
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of your direct reports
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Must demonstrate first rate analytical and credit skills/judgment, with an intensive ‘hands on’ approach to digging into the details of credit and structure.
- Must demonstrate excellent judgement and the ability to make sound decisions in a high pressure environment
- First rate project management skills and demonstrable end to end ownership of work/projects.
- Be able to establish credibility and trust with clients, internal business partners, product specialists and credit officers, and to partner with them effectively.
- Proven people management, coaching and development abilities
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Self-starting, result-driven, multi-tasking, risk-reward mindset and adaptable to change given the dynamic nature and timing of workflow.
- Significant experience in roles with relevant skills for this position.
