What we’re looking for in our Domestic:
To ensure our housing development is maintained at a high standard, you should be self-motivated and want to achieve high levels of cleanliness.
Skills and Experience required to become our Domestic:
You should have a warm, friendly personality, an understanding attitude towards older people and an ability to work well on your own initiative.

In 2025, we opened the doors to a new shop in the centre of Hythe, Southampton to continue our mission of supporting animals in need, as well as driving forward sustainability by promoting buying items second hand.
As a charity, we are incredibly lucky to receive kind and unique donations from our supporters and the funds raised through these sales play a pivotal role in supporting Blue Cross’s mission: aiding sick, injured, and homeless pets and ensuring the care of over 40,000 animals each year through our rehoming, veterinary, and education programmes.
More about the role
As a Retail Cover Supervisor, you will step in to provide essential support to our instore teams, ensuring we have enough cover to keep our shop running smoothly.
You will assist with customer service, stock management, and general shop duties. With our shops open Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00 and you will help us maintain high standards of service and presentation. You will work alongside a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in a role that is both flexible and impactful.
This is a zero-hours contract, which means your hours will vary based on the shop’s needs. We are committed to paying the National Living Wage, which is currently £12.21 per hour. For this role, the total hourly rate is £14.02, including additional elements like holiday pay and London Weighting Allowance..

About you
You’ll bring previous retail experience, including some time spent supervising or managing and you’ll be confident working with all sorts of customers.
