Java Developer

In this role, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders and analysts to define requirements and work with the team on coding and testing. You will also participate in production deployment and upgrade tasks. Control Assurance Manager

Join our team as a Control Assurance Manager within the Business Operational Risk Management team. You will support in embedding the Operational Risk Management Framework across the Risk Management Group’s divisions, including market risk, credit risk, compliance risk, operational risk, and behavioral risk.

In this role, you’ll work with management, process owners, and Business Operational Risk Managers to assess operational risks and create a risk-based assurance program. You’ll evaluate the internal control framework, risk management, and governance systems for improvement opportunities.
You’ll also ensure the assurance testing program is timely, perform targeted reviews as needed, record outcomes in the GRC system, prepare regular and ad-hoc assurance reports, and conduct follow-up implementation testing on identified improvements.

  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience in Operational Risk, Internal or External Audit within a financial institution or financial services firm. A strong operational risk or assurance background, especially with prior exposure to regulatory and compliance risk disciplines, is highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to initiate and lead conversations with global stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good interpersonal skills for building relationships with senior management within RMG and other stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand abstract concepts and complex technological situations. This is crucial for challenging the status quo and further developing and enhancing our Operational Risk Management Framework.
  • Having a tertiary degree in Risk Management or a related field, as well as professional qualifications (e.g., CIA, CA) or a relevant postgraduate degree, will be considered an added advantage.

In this role, you will plan and establish audit objectives, conduct fieldwork, and prepare audit reports. You will identify key technology management controls for testing in the cybersecurity and infrastructure technology portfolio (IAM, Vulnerability Management, Data Loss, Cloud, Networks, Operating Systems, etc.) and collaborate with the team to decide test strategies. You will also identify control weaknesses, provide insights for improvement, prepare audit reports for the Board Audit Committee and senior management, and track issue resolution.

  • 2-5 years of experience in performing Information System audits. Exposure to performing different types of audit testing including conducting walkthroughs, design assessment and control effectiveness testing.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or infrastructure audits, such as those related to Cloud services or network systems, are preferred.
  • Qualifications in information systems/cybersecurity (e.g., CISA, CISM, CISSP, CCAK, CSX).
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise and influence both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to process complex information in a dynamic environment and identify operational risk issues of material significance.
  • Experience of working in a global environment is a must.
