Job Summary: As an integral member of the Burger King Company Operations team, the District Manager oversees five to six restaurants and is directly responsible for the Profit Loss (PL) statement. This position will lead a restaurant management team responsible for meeting operational and organizational objectives while adhering to brand standards.   • Ensure adherence to wage and hour guidelines for all restaurant employees, especially minors.
  • Support corporate initiatives through restaurant pilots and feedback programs to optimize brand standards and restaurant performance.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with RGMs to review results, communicate changes, and lead on how to improve.

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, System Communications, McDonald’s is seeking a Supervisor to join the U.S. System Communications team. This position will support in the management and execution of our communications channel strategy in the U.S., ensuring the entire McDonald’s USA System is informed of the role they play in driving the U.S. business plan and key initiatives. They will be responsible for the development and execution of a handful of channels, including regular McDonald’s USA System-wide newsletters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage our channels. Our channels include email communications to the McDonald’s USA System, recurring digital newsletters, and a U.S. intranet site. In collaboration with the Manager, System Communications, the Supervisor will act as an advisor to the business providing strategic recommendations on when and how to distribute information based on our communications channel strategy and the guidelines set for each channel. The Supervisor will be responsible for collecting, editing, and finalizing content and, in certain cases, will also draft the content.
  • Oversee a U.S. System editorial calendar in collaboration with the Manager, System Communication. This includes outlining upcoming communications, updating the calendar to reflect key changes, utilizing the calendar to inform communications strategies, and distributing the calendar to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage key U.S. System convenings such as Employee Town Halls and System Webcasts. This includes agency management and working collaboratively with the U.S. Enterprise Communications team to ensure consistent messaging across each touchpoint.
  • Support the effort to develop and execute integrated, communications strategies and messaging for the U.S. System.
  • Turn insights into action. Leverage all available metrics/data points to understand the efficacy of our communications strategies and make recommendations regarding ways to continue to evolve our approach to meet system needs and drive business results.
  • Find new ways to tell our stories. Leverage a suite of creative, new, and different platforms (including but not limited to graphics, web, multimedia, and written formats) to drive system awareness and engagement with key U.S. business initiatives.
  • Establish relationships and serve as a trusted advisor. Successfully navigate our complex system, establishing relationships within the U.S. Business Communications team and beyond, enhancing our ability to stay connected and influence communications-related decisions.
  • Be a key point of contact for communicating issues to the U.S. System when they arise. Collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to distribute System-wide alerts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an internal communications role, either in-house or at an agency. External communications experience is a plus.

Manager, People Business Partner, Burger King, Company Operations

Job Summary: This role provides HR support to restaurant leadership, focusing on employee relations, compliance, performance management, and talent acquisition. Key responsibilities include leading hiring events, ensuring legal compliance, facilitating training, and supporting succession planning. The position also involves coaching managers, resolving HR issues, and improving workforce processes through regular restaurant visits.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conducts weekly 1:1 meeting with Restaurant Company Operations Leadership and participates in weekly District Manager and RGM meetings.
  • Manages the investigation process and helps the leadership and inside counsel to resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance (i.e. background checks and I-9 process). Partners with the Legal department as needed/requirement.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to restaurant management and above restaurant leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Facilitates and/or partners with Training on HR change initiatives and continuous improvement projects providing updates and training for restaurant management and team members as required.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. Provides guidance and input on business unit restructure and succession planning.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up with restaurant team to ensure training objectives are met. Partner with other HR leaders to ideate and improve key HR programs. Participate in cross-functional teams in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Leads and organizes hiring events across various outlets to attract and recruit restaurant talent.
  • Supports restaurant teams with use of Applicant Tracking System and assists New Hire Orientations to build and develop talent pipeline.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years HR generalist experience required (to include training, recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and HRIS administration)
  • Flexible style and willingness to “roll up your sleeves and get it done”.
  • Good knowledge and experience in organization effectiveness, team dynamics, leadership development, management/leadership effectiveness, and facilitation.
  • Excellent team-building and influencing skills, communications and unquestioned integrity, and the experience to effectively address sensitive HR issues.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and flexible environment while also working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience of organization and business understanding by the demonstration of partnering with the business to understand business priorities, routines and practices.
