Position Summary
As a “Business Scientist” (Business Acumen + Data Scientist), the Enterprise Analytics (EA) Lead Data Scientist will serve as the advanced analytics expert across EA initiatives currently in flight or being planned at NUSA, building, enhancing and applying sophisticated, interconnected and predictive algorithms to drive profitable growth across the enterprise. The overall objective is to enable diagnostic evaluation, predictive planning, and prescriptive decision making in everyday problem solving across the Ensure Supply Functions (Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics), with a primary focus in Manufacturing.
- Lead model development, evaluation, and deployment to support operational decision making across Ensure Supply, focusing mostly in Manufacturing.
- Introduce Machine Learning methodologies across a wide breadth of business use cases.
- Acquire deep understanding of business problems and translate them into appropriate mathematical depictions.
- Act as an internal consultant by integrating with departmental customers to identify opportunities, scope and define the business problems, performing data analysis, and generate self-service solutions to address needs.
- Interpret the results, draw conclusions, and present findings / recommendations to appropriate groups to help identify actionable steps to be taken by cross-functional and leadership teams.
- Mentor more junior staff, guide predictive model development across team, define how customers use the models, and train users on integration.
Primary Responsibilities – What You’ll Do
- Test and implement the advanced analytics methods to derive insights that drive business growth.
- Drive the execution of AI solutions to address business needs.
- Drive EA priorities through rapid piloting and scaling of next gen technologies.
- Incorporate the latest data science thinking into NUSA’s solutions and models.
- Collect, cleanse, and understand complex data sources to enable proper analytical modeling.
- Research, design, develop, test, and implement data science methodologies across a wide range of business applications.
- Define and develop programming for self-service decision support solutions that leverage predictive, prescriptive, and scenario optimization tactics.
- Manage Special Projects, Pilots, Proof of Concepts, and Ad-hoc project work leading the charge from idea to delivered data science capability.
- Participate in the evaluation, intake, design, and integration strategy between multiple commercial functions (sales, marketing, etc.) and data sources for varying Nestlé businesses.
- Conduct proper stakeholder management to ensure all parties are aligned and updated throughout project life cycle.
- Design and build advanced visualization tools that will simplify the outputs of the models, with the goal of being integrated into a self-service operational model across the business stakeholders.
- Develop professional presentations and project status reporting appropriate for their intended audience.
- Coach analysts and junior data scientists in addressing modeling issues identified by the business stakeholders. Provide analytics knowledge and support to the commercial business network.

Requirements and Minimum Education Level
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or a similar field. Master’s degree preferred but additional, relevant work experience would be considered in lieu of a Master’s Degree.
- 5+ years of experience using various programming languages (R, Python etc.) to develop and apply machine learning methods and algorithms to address business priorities, with focus on consumer products preferred.
Necessary Skills & Qualifications
- Business acumen (strong understanding of how business operates, and how to harness data and analytics to meet business needs).
- Experience in manufacturing operations, processes, data and systems.
- Ability to develop and deploy advanced analytical models and algorithms that drive profitable growth at NUSA.
- Strong working knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (Regression, Clustering, Decision Tree, Neural Networks, Bayesian etc.).
- Experience developing analytics solutions in python, with hands on experience leveraging python’s data manipulation, analysis, and visualization libraries.
- Proficiency in scripting in python, including the ability to write efficient code to automate tasks, manipulate data, and perform various operations using python libraries and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) in python and how to effectively implement classes, objects, and inheritance hierarchies to create modular and reusable code.
- Experience visualizing/presenting data for partners using PowerBI, Tableau, or Streamlit.
- Familiarity of MLOps best practices for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining solutions in production.
- Passion for solving complex data problems and generating cross-functional solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven examples of developing, selling, and sharing modeling concepts and software development best practices across team members to drive adoption.
- Experience in a mentorship type role, focused on driving contribution beyond own models and projects.

Sanitation Technician II – 3rd Shift
Seeking a motivated Sanitation Technician II to join our team. Responsible for sanitizing and maintaining production equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Electro – Mechanical Apprentice
Through a combination of coursework and on-the-job training, the apprentice will learn the skills of a full-time Electro-Mechanical Technician. A fully trained Electro-Mech technician is a multi-skilled employee with primary responsibilities of maintaining equipment in a proactive manner – troubleshooting and repairing both mechanical and electrical abnormalities on all production-related equipment. The apprentice will learn to perform all preventative maintenance as scheduled to eliminate unplanned stoppages, increase asset intensity, and build operator technical capabilities.
APPRENTICE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE DIRECTION OF PROPER SUPERVISION:
Basic Overview of Mechanical Responsibilities
Service and repair of production related equipment including extensive knowledge in the principles and practical application of pneumatics, hydraulics, chain/belt drives, bushings/bearings/idler systems, gearboxes, pumps, valves, fasteners, seals, gaskets, mechanical fabrication, and rigging, Capability to follow work standards and full adherence to all safety permitting and facility LOTO requirements while executing tasks.
Basic Overview of Electrical/Automation Responsibilities
Service and repair of production related electrical equipment including knowledge of power distribution and lighting systems, AC/DC motors and transformers, machine and line control devices, fluid control and distribution, electronic controls and instrumentation, variable frequency drives, and basic PLC knowledge/ interpretation capabilities. Ability to demonstrate safe practices and tools for while working with low voltage and medium voltage electrical systems and components.
Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of production related equipment including but not limited to:
- Ingredient Handling & Preparation – sugar dissolving, bulk handling, dumping stations.
- Chocolate making – Roasting, Pressing, Conching, Refining
- Packaging Labelers, Case Packers, Palletizers, Conveyor systems and shunts, Storage systems, Product transport systems.
- Preventive/Predictive Maintenance – Responsible for executing planned work schedule as assigned and creating follow up notifications/improvements in SAP system to ensure cost effective and reliable equipment performance.
- Completion of all assigned work in a timely manner following standards and best practices.
- Provide technical training to Operators as part of our NCE practices to ensure knowledge transfer and autonomy in equipment operations.
- Creative problem-solving skills to perform equipment improvements and enhancements to optimize production with positive contribution to all key deliverables of safety, quality, and cost.
- A strong commitment to continuous improvement and competency development.
- Participate in problem solving utilizing tools such as BDA and GSTD.
- Actively participate in NCE and Improvement teams.
- Lead continuous update of Maintenance procedures, and PM Optimization efforts.
