The AWS Data Center Security team is looking for a creative, innovative, results-oriented program manager in the Northern Virginia/Greater Washington D.C area to lead security and security-systems projects and programs in the data center environment. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute to a collaborative and productive environment with a strong service-oriented culture among multiple diverse and highly skilled teams of project and program managers. These teams are responsible for the design, installation, and evolution of physical security systems and programs to include intrusion detection, access control/management, CCTV, screening, emergency response, etc.
A successful candidate will have the ability to manage difficult and interdependent projects with a regional impact. You will be responsible for enabling the interpretation of Threat Assessments and AWS Physical Security Standards to assure the proper security mitigations are selected and implemented to meet the unique challenges in each area. You will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally to assure each data center meets the high standards AWS sets for physical security. You must also ensure local security teams have the technical knowledge and resources necessary to meet the ongoing physical security mission.
Key job responsibilities • Project Management for physical security systems related to new construction, expansion, and retrofit projects. • Preparation of physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close-out documentation. • Contemporary knowledge of emerging physical security technologies to assess their applicability within the AWS physical security program. • Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for leadership to make strategic decisions regarding technology and procedure. • Balance performance metrics such as physical security system installation vendor service delivery performance, actual spend vs. budget variance, cost reduction goal attainment, post installation defect rates, physical security program analysis, etc. • Manage vendors for the on-boarding, RFQ, bid, contract, QA/QC, and support processes. • Effectively and accurately manage multi-million dollar budgets for infrastructure projects and initiatives. • Collaborate across teams and provide support for global initiatives.

Position Requirements SUMMARY

This is a new position and is part of an emerging new team that is quickly growing the Federal Practice for HEAPY. The Project Manager will have the opportunity to work with the Client Strategies Leader and a Senior Project Manager to strengthen and grow relationships with clients and enhance market presence through delivering excellence in leading Federal projects.

This position manages the full life cycle (proposal-initiation-execution/control-closeout) of design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, sustainability, or engineering/construction projects and the complete project success. This includes maintaining a superior client experience, a high level of colleague and contractor engagement/collaboration, and achievement of financial sustainability targets.

The Project Manager is responsible for client focused communication and outreach, understanding and communication of the project scope to both the client and colleagues, establishing the Client’s Guiding Principles for the project, project schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, resource planning requirements, team technical management and risk management elements required to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility. This position will also apply deep electrical engineering expertise to technological needs in Federal projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Professional Engineering (PE) registration is highly desired. Possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification and working toward achieving a PE could be considered.

  • Guides HEAPY service delivery to ensure consistency with the appropriate service operating procedures and identified milestones.
