The Solutions Consultant is the evolution of the traditional Sales Engineering role, aligning how we best serve our customers in understanding their environment, providing solution guidance and ensuring value realization in their investment with Palo Alto Networks. As a Solutions Consultant you provide technical leadership and expertise and guidance in your customer’s security transformation journey. You will play a key role in defining technical solutions that secure a customer’s key business imperatives and ensuring value realization of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. You evangelize our industry leadership in on-prem, cloud, and security operations services that establish PANW as your customer’s cybersecurity partner of choice.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • Understanding of data networking and/or modern application design and cloud architectures
  • Delivering cybersecurity solutions that solve technical challenges and influence new business initiatives
  • Influencing and gaining buy-in from key stakeholders, either in a customer-facing or internal role – prior experience in a pre-sales role is ideal
  • Creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or technical validation engagements
  • Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing one or more of the following solutions – Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP and/or SOC Transformation Technologies
  • Partnering with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions
  • Complex sales involving long sales processes with multiple buying centers and multi-product solutions are preferred
  • Proficient in English

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $198,000/yr to $273,000/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.

Support Account Manager

As a Support Account Managers (SAM) you are key to shaping the support experience of our strategic customers. Your responsibility includes driving the technical support delivery across the Palo Alto Networks platform of products to ensure Palo Alto Networks is exceeding customer expectations. As a partner to your Customers, you will understand their business goals and security priorities in order to deliver support services that drive customer loyalty and success. Successful candidates will be customer-obsessed team players who leverage demonstrated technical expertise with strong business acumen to ensure customers achieve the right outcomes and realize the value of their investment in the Palo Alto Networks security platform.

Your Impact

  • Provide leadership in the delivery of our high-touch, personalized support service to our customers
  • Understand and participate in technical discussions in order to move towards the resolution of technical issues that are blocking successful adoption of the Palo Alto Networks platform
  • Develop an understanding of our customer’s business and security priorities to provide technical best practice guidance and support
  • Develop and deliver weekly status reports to summarize support status of open issues, task progression and pending activities
  • In collaboration with support engineers, document, deliver and present technical, in-depth root cause analysis for customer issues
  • Deliver quarterly business reviews that communicate the value the customer is deriving from their Palo Alto Networks investment
  • Partner with account teams to understand their account expansion strategy and to support in the identification of opportunities to deliver solutions and/or service to your customers
  • Understand how customers are using their Palo Alto Networks products and provide best practices guidance in support of customer use cases and to increase their security posture
  • Deliver updates on product and feature enhancements
  • Proactively use data to monitor customer health and to mitigate risk and to resolve customer technical issues
  • Act as an advocate for customers, coordinating internal resources during the triage and resolution of high severity cases to assist with the timely resolution of these issues
  • Ensure your customers and internal stakeholders have timely information to make decisions in order to resolve issues more quickly
  • Engage Product Management on behalf of the customer to communicate security priorities and operational requirements as feature requests

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in technical support or a services delivery role with demonstrated skills delivering technical guidance and technical information to customers from engineers to management to executives
  • 5+ years of client facing sales or services experience with large enterprise, Fortune 500 companies
  • Prior experience supporting network security technology, working in security operations, technical support, and/or cloud security with products including but not limited to next generation firewalls, SASE solutions, cloud security, endpoint security, security orchestration, automation and response products
  • Ability to translate business objectives into desired outcomes and deliver best practice guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work within a demanding environment, delivering consistent results under time constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to identify key customer stakeholders, engage and build relationships without direct supervision
  • Ability to manage simultaneous issues in a dynamic environment and proactively identify and mitigate risks and challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team environment partnering and influencing others across the organization to achieve desired customer outcomes

Customer Success Engineer, Access

As a Customer Success Engineer (CSE) at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a strategic role in driving customer success by providing advanced technical expertise and leadership. You will work closely with CISOs, CTOs, security, cloud, network, and other technical teams from the world’s largest and most well-known organizations, particularly focusing on ensuring successful deployment, adoption, and optimization of our solutions.

This position works within our Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) Customer Success organization, helping customers in their cloud transformation journey. Some solutions you will work with include Prisma Access, SD-WAN, CASB, and others under the SASE portfolio.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 5+ years of industry hands-on experience with deep expertise in network security, cloud infrastructure, and related technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of SASE, SD-WAN, NGFW, and sophisticated routing protocols such as BGP
  • Proven track record in driving product adoption, leading complex feature implementations, and delivering advanced training programs
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable plans, guiding customers through advanced use cases
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive-level contacts
  • High-level consultative skills, capable of influencing decisions and driving customer success strategies
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, SSL, IPSec, PKI, and advanced troubleshooting tools like tcpdump & Wireshark
  • Work experience should include 4+ years of hands-on designing, deploying, and managing large enterprise networks in real time
  • Detail understanding of NOC (Network Operations Center) and SoC (Security Operations Center) day-to-day operational requirements in building and maintaining a secure network
  • Detailed working knowledge of network infrastructure and security, TCP/IP, BGP, NGFW, SSL/IPSec VPNs
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols, with hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting BGP-based production networks
  • Background in Internet and Security technologies such as Sandboxing, Firewalls, DLP, and VPNs
  • Proven understanding of Security Life Cycle / Attack Life cycle and other security concepts and use of security products to protect the enterprise network from attackers and data breaches
  • Proven experience with SD-WAN, CASB, or Cloud/SaaS products and PCNSE, CCNP, CCSP, and CISSP certifications is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud networking, virtualization technologies, and API/automation tools for complex deployments
