Team objective :

  • To find the next set of blockbusters at Pocket FM.

How will we do this ?

  • We will run multiple sprints of around 5-7 days each
  • Pick novels / video content / etc. from source platforms
  • From 10 hours (nearly 100 chapters) worth of content from the books, create shortened summary versions of 10 minutes which best represents the 10 hours of content.

Requirements :

  • We are building a team of writers who are agile – whether it is ninja-fast reading of their assigned scripts or writing the best possible summary versions!
  • We also value adaptability and creativity, as the testing process will go through iterations as we gather more learnings in each sprint.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Product Manager to join our dynamic team. As the Group Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the product experience as well as monetization! You will drive product led pillars of a product, be it projects like Subscription, Loyalty Pgn, Pricing, Offers or be it more nuanced work streams such as finding the right experience balance between a binger and a sampler, this role will definitely need you to push yourself in your user empathy , analytical prowess, structured solutioning and insight generation skills !You will work closely with cross functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to gather insights, prioritize features, and drive the roadmap to deliver a world class experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a product roadmap and strategy that leverages data insights, aligning with user and business needs.

Role Overview

The writer adapts stories from Korean and Chinese novels into scripts suited for an Indian audience. They rewrite, localize, and restructure narratives, ensuring that the language, cultural references, and characters align with Indian sensibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read 1000 chapters and analyze original novels (in translation or through summaries) to extract key themes and plot points.
  • Write and adapt the stories to Indian settings, ensuring culturally relevant storytelling while maintaining the original’s thematic depth.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director to align on tone, character, and plot changes.
  • Provide direction for voice-over scripts, ensuring natural dialogue for Indian audiences.
  • Create a show bible/ concept note along with episodic planning to help ensure vision is aligned.
  • Able to create summaries of 1000+ chapters into 5000 odd words for market testing
  • Have an open mind to rework if data indicates retention drop
  • Document changes made with justifications in the show diary
  • Maintain throughput as decided by the creative and business teams
  • Episodic line up & planning to be created

Skills and Traits:

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling abilities, with a focus on adapting across cultures.
  • Familiarity with Indian languages, idiomatic expressions, and cultural narratives.
  • Strong research skills to understand both the source material (Korean/Chinese novels) and the target audience (Indian).
  • Adaptability to work with multiple genres and styles.
  • English reading and understanding + Hindi writing + Preferably in Devanagari

Must Have Requirements :

  • 5 + years of experience in the TV, OTT space in the long form mainstream content
  • Should have independently written or assisted an established writer.
  • References from their CDs/producers/main writers whom they have assisted
  • Profile should mention their writing contribution on the shows
