Name of the position: Project Manager

Educational Qualification: BE/MB

Role & Responsibilities:

  •              Responsible for ensuring the planning and delivery of all Engineering activities for a project from concept through to            Launch
  •        Ensure that the technical targets and requirements are clearly defined and agreed with all stakeholders and then ensure   these are delivered on time and to budget Arbitrate where conflicts arise and make informed decisions, or escalate if   unable to do so
  •      Ensure Engineering Department deliverables as defined in the Norton New Product Development (NPD) process have agreed ownership and are delivered on time to the appropriate gateway requirements
  • Manage delivery of Engineering activities from either internal departmental resource or from third party Engineering Service Providers (ESPs), depending on company strategy / resources – prepare Statement of work and help negotiate RASIC and delivery plan where external ESPs used
  •      Compile Objective and Subjective Engineering targets documentation, including dynamic attributes, ergonomics, feature content and mass
  •         Establish and manage engineering budgets to deliver the programme
  •         Establish Quality targets and delivery plans for the programme
  •       Ensure test and validation plans are appropriate to the programme, including benchmarking, mule testing and prototype validation
  •        Manage engineering release planning to meet programme timing requirements, working closely with the procurement team to establish component and system supplier nomination plans as well as aid in the development of piece and tooling costs
  •         Develop and manage the Bill of Materials (BoM) for the programme
  •          Identify project risks and plan mitigation action with the Vehicle Line Manager
  •          Ensure that the engineering activities are delivered according to company processes and procedures – as well as being a key stakeholder in the development of these processes
  •        Complete lessons learnt review at programme completion and document actions
  •        Co-ordinate IT and data management requirements for the engineering function to ensure effective communication with suppliers and partners
