Registered Nurse OPD | Outpatients | Southampton | Bank, 0 hours contract | Flexible working hours 

Spire Southampton Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join the Bank in our outpatient’s department.

Spire Southampton Hospital offers world-class care, attracting patients from across the South of England and internationally. We deliver some of the best cardiac surgery results in the country. Our Critical Care department and multidisciplinary team offer you peace of mind for our wide range of treatments.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Day to day running of clinics
  • Assisting Consultants to treat and care for patients
  • Seeing patients for nurse led treatments i.e. Wound reviews/dressings, phlebotomy, recording of vital signs, ECG’s, removed of casts, Ophthalmic diagnostic tests
  • Making refreshments for Consultants and Patients
  • Acting as a chaperone
  • Assisting in keeping the Outpatient environment clean, tidy and safe
  • Ensuring consumables are replenished regularly
  • Decontamination of equipment
  • Regular cleaning between patients, Consultation rooms and clinical areas
  • Restocking of patient linen
  • Trained nurses are responsible for the safe keeping of medication including monthly expiry date audits
  • All staff will be expected to be involved with Audit and link roles within the department.

About the Role

We develop a Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) system used to monitor and track vessels within a client-defined maritime area of interest.

The UI operates across two monitors:

  • Chart Screen (CS): Unity + C# application rendering geospatial maps and vessel tracks
  • Data Screen (DS): Angular web application providing operational workflows such as alerts, configuration, and CRUD operations

This contract role focuses exclusively on the Data Screen, which is currently undergoing a visual and UX reskinning programme.

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver Angular UI changes as part of a structured reskinning effort
  • Implement updated designs, layouts, and styles across existing DS features
  • Refactor and rationalise Angular components where appropriate
  • Work from UX/design assets (e.g. Figma or equivalent)
  • Integrate UI changes with existing REST APIs
  • Ensure robust handling of large, data-heavy views
  • Maintain high standards of code quality and consistency
  • Collaborate with back-end, systems, and Unity engineers

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong commercial experience with Angular (v10+)
  • Expert-level TypeScript, HTML, and modern CSS
  • Proven experience delivering UI reskins / redesigns
  • Component-based UI development experience
  • REST API integration experience
  • Good understanding of RxJS and Angular lifecycle
