About The Job
The Business Intelligence (BI) Report Writer for Brightly is a lead specialist in our Analytics and BI Services team responsible for building, testing, and maintaining software Product embedded reports, charts and dashboards in Power BI. This position will also partner and educate Product report writers and end users in the development of their own reports. By providing best in class enterprise reporting, the Report Writer directly contributes towards Brightly’s objective to differentiate with data.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Address reporting needs by converting legacy reports and building new reports using Power BI
- Generate appropriate Business View calculated fields for BI tool access
- Support end-user community in the use of business intelligence tools creation of ad-hoc reports.
- Ongoing technical documentation for Brightly BI Services sustainability and scale including data sources, logic, processes, and limitations
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders such as Product Management, Analytics, Design, and Data Cloud teams
- Follow and influence reporting and data quality change control processes for proper configuration and application change management that will impact reports
What You Need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Programming, Business Intelligence, Computer science or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience generating reports from BI tooling (Power BI preferred or acceptable equivalent e.g. Qlik, Tableau, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Power BI, SSRS, etc.)
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL with experience in querying and joining tabular data structures, database management, and creating new variables required for reports.
- Expertise in building intuitive, interactive dashboards and pixel perfect reports.
- Willingness to learn general international data security issues and follow data governance.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate in a remote team setting both reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly to changing requirements and priorities

You will be responsible for project procurement activities for Indian Railways & Metro Rolling Stock orders incl. EMU, MEMU, Trainsets, Metros, Locomotives etc. falling under Rolling Stock Business Unit.
The responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors to acquire the most cost-effective solution
- Extensive experience of managing Indian Railway vendors & understanding their approval process
- Strong understanding of Indian Railways / Metro supplier base in Indian and overseas
- Strong understanding of key commodities like transformer, cables, magnetics, weldments, electronics, capacitors, resistors etc.
- Ensure continuous and timely supply of required materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
- Lead and manage purchasing operations, policies, and procedures.
- Lead purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, sourcing and engineering departments to solve complex material supply issues
- Ensure timely generation of requirement in the ERP system and coordinate with internal stakeholders to release the order to suppliers
- Track and drive necessary engineering BOM releases to enable on-time procurement of all required material
- Partner with suppliers, project managers, and quality for un-interrupted delivery of parts to production
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery and invoice issues
- Document and follow-up shipping reports from suppliers and monitor the inbound tracking of critical supply
- Provide clear and concise data analysis (report or presentation) to project and business managers to support them on supply-chain decisions
- Proactively manage suppliers where delivery dates are at risk by escalating within the supplier organization to identify and evaluate opportunities to improve deliveries
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures
- Interpret internal / external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes or services
