Customer Engagement Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Growth OEM Customer Service team.  This position is the front-line, key contact for our customers and internal sales teams and is responsible for building customer relationships, reviewing customer requirements to ensure compliance with SKF policies and servicing the customer and sales teams with speed, efficiency and professionalism.  The ideal candidate possesses experience in customer-facing roles, making data-driven decisions, leadership experience, a customer-centric and full value chain mindset, and a proven ability to handle complex customer situations with professionalism.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute SKF Americas strategic vision: One (Americas), Two (Defend), Three (Grow) and Four (Fund)
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring swift and effective resolutions
  • Build and maintain professional relationships
  • Perform root cause analysis utilizing data to identify issues and implement solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to customer challenges and opportunities
  • Provide insights and recommendations to streamline processes and enhance customer experiences
  • Customer Service duties including (but not limited to) orderbook management, preparing quotations, answering basic product questions and offering alternatives, entering and tracking orders, and working with factories and planners to expedite deliveries

Job Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service experience, demonstrating strong leadership skills, a customer-centric and full value chain mindset, and a proven ability to handle complex customer situations with professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite, with advanced data analysis capabilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to empower and inspire teams to achieve excellence
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Proactive decision-maker with a keen business sense and the ability to drive purposeful action
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, and dedicated to achieving success
  • Proven understanding of customer service metrics and KPIs
  • Current working arrangement is hybrid, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in office; M – F, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM EST

Key Account Manager

The Key Account Manager will represent Ring & Seal as a strategic business & technology partner, providing solutions by means of Ring & Seal products to our key accounts, implement overall growth and retention strategy with Customer, manage projects, coordinate relationships and opportunities to effectively deliver customer value for sustained profitable growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Ring & Seal ambassador and develop customer relationships t at all levels
  • Promote the Ring & Seal products at selected Key Accounts locally/regionally
  • Grow the Ring & Seal business profitably for your selected customers
  • Maintain and improve customer business profitability
  • Act as the Ring & Seal speaking partner to the customer
  • Advocate internally for your customers by working  closely with engineering and manufacturing to fulfil customer requirements and requests
  • Lead contract negotiations
  • Establish long term account growth strategy in coordination with  management and coordinate sales and marketing activities accordingly
  • Coordinate activities leading to customer satisfaction and business growth
  • Coordinate the follow up of business opportunities with relevant parts of the organization to capture new business for Ring & Seal
  • Organize benchmarking and cross fertilization activities to replicate success stories
  • Focus on improving our knowledge about the customers needs
  • Act as the contact towards the market for developing new products
  • Ensure that sales and profit are in line with expectations and targets set by the management

Education, Experience and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience with direct customer / sales interaction
  • 5+ years of Aerospace OEM experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or equivalent work experience
  • Self-motivated and execution focused with an ability to meet deadlines
  • Enjoy working in a team environment without losing focus on target achievement
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated achievement in past commercial or technical roles
  • Must be willing to travel as required by the customer / company needs (up to 25% of the time)

Industry Specialist

Regional Industry Specialists are regionally located technical support personnel providing end-user customers with best in class, hands-on technical support for their industry areas of expertise. The primary focus will be on accounts in Illinois, Indiana and Iowa.  A successful candidate will have a strong engineering and/or technical sales background along with thorough knowledge of manufacturing and production processes primarily related to the Metals, Mining, & Pulp & Paper industries that will support and promote SKF bearings, seals, and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain SKF brand loyalty for products and services by leveraging support activities and relationships at key end-users
  • Provide installation assistance
  • Develop and deliver internal and external training to maintenance personnel as well as supporting local Technical Seminars
  • Support sales by mapping the use of bearings and seals in critical equipment at specific end-user locations
  • Work with local Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to develop a sales strategy and support tactical growth initiatives and core business retention
  • Introduce new product launches to end user base
  • On-site failure analysis/inspections
  • Supporting projects that create Cost Savings for key end users/distributors
  • Support SKF Authorized Distributor partners with technical support/joint calls
  • Provide bearing and sealing recommendations as part of the application review process
  • Support the SKF full line of products and services(SKF, CR, PEER, Kaydon, Cooper, Reman)
  • Approximately 80% travel is required while primarily supporting the states of Washington and Oregon with some occasional travel within other Western states.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree is highly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in application engineering, technical project work, or maintenance engineering
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to manage time, resources, and budgets to meet organizational goals.
  • Basic PC software and CRM (Customer Relation Management) skills.
  • Proven track record of proactive and continuous improvement within area of responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically
  • Condition monitoring and Maintenance strategy knowledge/experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers to capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • The candidate will be working from a home office but will potentially spend up to 50% of their time at customer locations involving service contracts.

Export and Sales Operations Coordinator

The Export and Sales Operations Coordinator is a pivotal role within the Lubrication Management division of SKF. This position combines customer relationship management with export logistics coordination, ensuring seamless operations and superior customer service. The role involves building and maintaining customer relationships, managing export documentation, and coordinating shipments onsite to meet customer requirements and company policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for customers, internal sales teams, and international SKF offices by handling customer-facing activities via phone and email.
  • Provide pricing and delivery information, manage customer order books, and handle customer complaints.
  • Work closely with Production Planning, Purchasing, Logistics, and the Warehouse to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Prepare and communicate product return authorizations and issue credits and debits to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Delivery error and carrier return investigation onsite.
  • Process export orders in JD Edwards and create export documentation using Global Wizard software.
  • Coordinate onsite with outbound the consolidation of air and ocean export shipments.
  • Work to ensure shipments are prepared timely and ready for carrier pick up.
  • Oversee carrier pickups and ship confirm orders in the system once completed.
  • Send export pre-alert emails with tracking and documentation to customers.
  • Coordinate onsite with freight forwarders and transport carriers for export shipments. Ensure pick up of shipments with correct documentation.
  • File export documentation and maintain organized records.
  • Enhance export documentation processes for better efficiencies.
  • Read and interpret export and dangerous goods regulations and attach proper documentation to shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in an international trade setting and export documentation preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience required.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and business mentality with the ability to make solid business decisions.
  • Motivated self-starter and team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and AS400.
  • Knowledge of world geography; second language skills a plus.
  • Ability to walk in a warehouse environment for extended periods safely.
