Editor Music and Culture

We, at Spotify are looking to hire an ‘Editor Music and Culture, Punjabi’ who is dedicated and passionate about Punjabi music, both new as well as catalog music. In this role you will be part of the Music team, and work closely with the ‘Head of Editorial’ of India. You will handle music curation for Punjabi language, and will be responsible for identifying and curating music for all moods, music genres, eras, moments, and multifaceted user interests.
As a music editor, you will be encouraged to make data informed decisions, and bring deep cultural and music insights to build highly engaging music experiences for listeners!

What you will do

    • Own the music curation and overall strategy for a language, and establish leadership for Spotify
    • Be the language and culture expert, and proactively identify music trends and opportunities for Spotify
    • Study data and present reasons to the Music team, to build Spotify’s path for Punjabi language, not only in India, but globally as well
    • Stay informed on the latest developments in the music industry, including emerging artists, genres and trends
    • Partner with cross functional teams, to ensure editorial content aligns with broader business objectives
    • Work to build the Punjabi ecosystem across genres and various artist tiers to contribute to the overall Punjabi strategy and vision for Spotify’s editorial content, helping to drive innovation and excellence
    • Curate and maintain playlists for various moods, moments and occasions
    • Work on organisational wide projects, by working closely with the Global Editorial Teams and other cross-functional teams
    • Implement the best practices from across the company, to build robust process and ensure high efficiency in execution

Who you are

    • Be deeply knowledgeable about Punjabi music and artists – both new, and catalog music
    • You have experience in the music industry, working with a broad range of music content. Experience in programming for music services is preferred
    • Good presentation skills, strong data analysis skills, proficient in using data analytical tools to track and analyze music trends, playlist performance and audience engagement
    • Having formal training or formal knowledge in music theory will be an advantage.
    • You are digitally savvy and comfortable with digital technology
    • You are numerate and adept at analyzing and interpreting data and using it to set goals
    • You are highly organized, detail oriented, with strong time management skills
    • You have good communication skills – spoken and written, in English and in Punjabi
    • You are comfortable with working in a fast changing environment and matrix reporting structures. Be comfortable with ambiguity and be self driven

You have helped brands build their marketing strategy, and grown their investments on advertising. You have built creative, long-term consultative solutions and managed senior client relationships. What You’ll Do

    • Define the sales strategy and drive execution for some of India’s top Retail native brands and their agencies

We are looking for a Manager, Customer Success for our India Ads business. The candidate should have an established record of Customer Success Management (CSM) and revenue management, as well as a deep interest and passion for digital media, music and innovation.
In this role, you will oversee the team focused on our India Ad Sales business. We want someone who loves our product and has deep expertise in the industry and digital media and to help build long-term consultative solutions, and lead, motivate and grow a team . You should be confident while being humble, and hardworking while still knowing how to have fun!
You must have experience leading Client Services, or teams with similar responsibilities. Strong people skills and to work across multiple teams and functions is a necessity. A reliable and crucial team member with comprehensive platform knowledge who can anticipate client and internal team needs.

What You’ll Do

    • You will work with and report directly to the Regional Head of Customer Success Management, APAC, to collaborate, strategize, shape, develop and evolve the India Customer Success Management team to continually meet and exceed the needs and expectations of our internal and external partners
    • In close collaboration with the Sales Directors of this team, you will create strategy and drive execution via world class customer service for some of the world’s top brands and agencies

Who You Are

    • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as business, statistics, math, economics, or related fields
    • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in advertising sales research, preferably in roles at research agencies, media owners, advertisers, or media agencies
    • Outstanding communication, organizational, and presentation skills
    • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with sales leadership partners in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in data analysis and storytelling, with the ability to delve into the “why” behind research results
    • Experience presenting research findings at client, agency, and industry forums
    • Highly experienced with SQL and Big Query for exploring large datasets and experience with custom survey programming and data analysis software preferred
    • Proficiency with syndicated tools such as comScore, Nielsen, Kantar, and similar platforms and Comfortable adapting to new skills, research methodologies, and technologies

    • Previous experience in the JAPAC region research is advantageous
