What is the project about?

The purpose of this project is to collect unique photos and screenshots of a wide variety of physical and digital membership and loyalty cards, event tickets, gift cards or coupons, to improve AI-driven visual recognition and understanding.

Task Description:

You will have to submit photos/screenshots using our DataForce platform.

Who is eligible?

To participate you should meet the following qualifying criteria:

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • Be a resident of the United Kingdom.
  • Able to follow guidelines in English.
  • Be able to submit photos/screenshots (assets) of physical and digital membership and loyalty cards, event tickets, gift cards, coupons, and related passes or cards that contain a visible barcode (QR included).

Where is the project taking place?

This is a fully remote project. You can participate from the comfort of your home or preferred location within the United Kingdom.

How much is the compensation?

You will get $3.50 USD for each accepted asset. You may submit a maximum of 6 assets; you will get $21 USD if all the 6 of them are accepted.

Senior Software Engineer – Identity & Authentication (Backend) – Contractor

About the Role

In the European Client Identity team, we are building and operating Vanguard’s authentication and MFA platform used by hundreds of thousands of clients across the UK and Europe.

This is a hands-on senior backend role focused on designing, building, deploying, and operating cloud-based identity services. You will work in a highly regulated environment where security, reliability, and operational discipline matter.

You don’t need to be an identity expert on day one — but you do need strong backend fundamentals, cloud experience, and a responsible, methodical engineering mindset.

 

This is a contractor role, available for up to 12-months.

 

In this role you will

  • Build and evolve backend services that support login, MFA, and client authentication
  • Design and implement REST APIs using NestJS / TypeScript
  • Integrate with identity and MFA platforms (e.g. Auth0, Transmit Security)
  • Deploy and operate services on AWS, using Infrastructure as Code
  • Run and maintain services in production, including:
    • database migrations and updates
    • manage vendor-specific software services running in AWS

Overview
