Purpose of the Role

 

 

Tata Motors Design is an Inspired team of over 200 designers, sculptors, and professionals, co-located across 3 studios in Pune (India), Warwick (U.K.) and Turin (Italy). The division is Responsible for the Design of commercial vehicles, passenger cars and Personal electric mobility. We are looking for energetic, talented, and highly skilled Clay Modellers.

 

 

 

 

Job Responsibility

 

 

  • The relentless pursuit of perfection and constant improvement of knowledge, techniques, processes efficiencies and collective skills
  • Works as creative clay sculptor, able to work and refine the surfaces on the milled clay model as well as convert 2d sketches /Section information to 3D Clay model.
  • Develops clay model surfaces from technical drawings, design drawings and rendering.
  • Interact with designers and follow their vision and convert ideas to clay surfaces.
  • Uses digitizing equipment as required to retrieve data and input points on the models
  • Maintains shop and studio equipment and tools in a clean and orderly manner
  • Follow and maintain studio safety protocols

 

 

Desired Candidate Profile

 

 

  • Education: Bachelors and Professional Design training for Clay modelling
  • Relevant Experience: Over 3-10 years of relevant experience
  • Very good understanding of symmetry, surface highlights
  • Highly skilled with clay tools, Di-Noc film application, modelling tapes and other tools usually deployed during the clay model development
  • Familiar with other proto mediums used including hard foam, paper boards and paint application process.
  • Basic knowledge of Milling programming
