Our Merchandise Assistants provide diversified support for multiple buyers in a dynamic fast-paced work environment. Our Merchandise Assistants possess strong communication skills and act as a liaison between the Buyers, Internal Business Partners, and the Vendor Community. They must also possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail. They are resourceful and confident in problem solving. They must be able to work well independently as well as in a team.
- Enters purchase orders in an accurate and timely manner for buyers across multiple departments
- Follows up on late orders and upcoming shipments and completes balances as needed
- Completes purchase order modifications including delivery extensions, cancellations, and cost & retail changes
- Works internally to resolve issues (Accounts Payable, PO departments/chain moves, Planning, Distribution and Fulfillment Centers, etc.)
- Communicates with vendors regarding PO modifications/changes, PO shipment statuses and other inquiries
- Communicates with logistics to ensure vendors ship correctly
- Creates and runs reports for buyers as needed (On Order, Sales, etc.)
- Organizes and maintains merchandise samples and sample space for Buyers including returning samples to vendors
- Assists in preparing for Style Out and Strategy meetings by gathering samples, preparing selling recaps, etc.
- Assists Buyers with special projects as needed (i.e. recap projects, trend recaps, trend boards, etc.)
- Maintains positive relationships across different areas of business including our global offices

- High School Diploma or equivalent

Purchasing Agent
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing, securing, and forecasting inventory for non-merchandise retail fixtures for all brands (T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, HomeSense and Sierra) to support new stores, remodels, and special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for independently handling custom retail fixtures, including negotiating, and securing inventory for brand specific requirements across all US TJX Brands and Canada.
- Runs fixture inventory using Excel spreadsheets and available data to forecast, analyze, and maintain fixture inventory levels at supplier to ensure availability to meet critical timelines.
- Process bimonthly inventory updates to ensure supplier availability matches TJX inventory needs.
- Leads assigned suppliers and items including where they go in store, how they ship, how they are assembled/installed and what items go with them.
- Responsible for continuous monitoring of fixture usage to identify fluctuations and amend purchases accordingly.
- Builds & maintains solid relationships with suppliers to ensure pricing, quality and inventory reporting requirements are met.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills and recommend solutions to management team.
- Provides support to internal partners relating to fixture use/installation, delivery, quality control and supplier customer service.
- Conducts RFQ events by review of technical drawings, physical prototypes, and price analysis.
- Actively plan and support new business initiatives through fixture development.
Who We Are Looking For: You.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with minimum experience of 3-5 years in a buying role preferably in the retail industry
- Strong Excel experience is a must (proficient in using and creating formula based excel spreadsheets). Familiar with Pivot Tables is a plus.
- Must be detail oriented, highly analytical with strong attention to detail and can handle various tasks with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Highly organized and excellent follow-up skills.
- Ability to articulate clearly (verbal and written), work independently and possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexible thinking with the ability to work in the gray.

Retail Department Coordinator
Responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience. Oversees a team of Associates at front of store ensuring prompt, courteous customer service and promotion of loyalty programs.
