Our team is very multidisciplinary, owning a vertical stack including UIs for setting up and analyzing experiments, data pipelines and libraries for calculating results, and clients for assignment and delivery.

As a member of this team you would be working with talented engineers on building infrastructure to solve cutting edge experimentation problems. The primary focus of this position will be on our experimentation and feature flagging clients and the services that enable them. These clients are used by thousands of engineers at Airbnb as a core part of their development loop. You will work closely with customers to make it easy and safe to set up feature flags and experiments in code. You will also work to enable rich targeting of features and to build experiment allocation systems that meet Airbnb’s complex needs.
A typical day:
Build and extend the capabilities of our experimentation, feature flagging and targeting clients.
Build systems that allow developers to safely rollout their features and experiments by enabling incremental rollouts and designing real-time feedback mechanisms.
Partner with teams across the company to improve the impact of experimentation, especially by making it easier to set up experiments in code.
Participate in all phases of software development from architecture/design through implementation, testing, and on-call.
Work closely with Data Science partners to implement sophisticated statistical methodology into the platform.
Participate in experiment reviews to understand how our customers use our infrastructure, identify areas for improvement and learn about features rolling out across the company
Your expertise:
5+ years in a hands-on software engineering role, shipping high quality code to production, especially building services on the JVM used by other developers.
Experience with at least one modern, general programming language, especially a JVM language.
A deep understanding of OOP and API design patterns.
Experience working closely with other engineering teams across complex interfaces.
Strong communication skills and a track record of leading projects across teams.

- Develop and maintain a central command center to help field teams as well as leaders extract supply intelligence insights (demand spikes, demand : supply imbalances, booking lead time, market share changes etc..) at scale
- Act as the primary liaison between Supply, Global Markets, and Product teams to ensure alignment on key initiatives supply intelligence and product launches.
