In this vital role, you will provide service and maintenance for aircraft systems, Powerplant, Airframe and Components. You’ll handle a wide variety of duties that make every day different, including inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement and repair, as well as routine maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Engineer– Interiors, you will provide engineering support for aircraft interiors and related systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. You will work alongside cross-functional teams to analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement engineering projects that support both line and base operations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement engineering solutions for aircraft interiors, including project justification, cost/benefit analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and assess Service Bulletins (SBs), airworthiness directives, and modification requests for applicability to United’s fleet, coordinating FAA approvals and warranty recoveries as needed.
  • Define, optimize, and maintain maintenance programs, configuration criteria, and technical specifications for aircraft interiors.
  • Collaborate with operational groups, suppliers, and vendors to ensure airworthiness, safety, reliability, efficiency, and minimal operational disruption.
  • Investigate technical issues, support failure analysis, and provide recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet project deliverables, deadlines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation for repairs, modifications, and maintenance program changes.
  • Apply engineering judgment to support fleet-level decisions impacting cost, operational efficiency, and asset utilization.
  • Occasionally travel to airline maintenance facilities to support inspections, modifications, and project implementation.

Location & Schedule:
This role is based at the CSC – Willis Tower in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work schedule (three days per week in the office, subject to change).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace) or related technical field, or equivalent experience.

The Change Management Manager directly supports frontline field leaders and employees in the adoption of new tools, technologies and processes.  They will be responsible for helping hire, train, prepare and support by being actively engaged in those projects and collectively delivering feedback to project owners.  As a collateral owner of an above-the-wing and/or below-the-wing portfolio, this individual will be involved in large and small enterprise projects.
This role supports the Airport Operations (AO) organization in end-to-end change management from researching and interpreting data that drives organizational change management strategies to project management to tactical change activities throughout the system. Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure United’s AO organization is prepared to shift and readily adapt to new tools/technology/processes to deliver great customer service to our travelers around the world every day.
It is critical that this role establish and maintain strong business relationships with both senior and operating-level business leaders, including our frontline coworkers, and be a key interface with the business.  In particular, the leadership of this role to interface with Customer Strategy and Innovation, Digital Technology, Communications & Training will be critical to the success of the broader team.

These materials are essential to support new Inflight projects and must be accurate and timely as they are used to familiarize flight attendants with new service procedures and train new flight attendants. ·Creates, edits, formats, publishes, and distributes revisions to the Inflight Policies and Procedures Manual, Inflight Service Guides and Link guides. ·       Project manager for initiatives relative to these publications. Responsible for developing training materials and webinars and delivering some as well as developing checklists relevant to the publications.
