SOFTWARE ENGINEER III

Responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers, in the areas of supply chain management & Customer experience.

 

 

What you’ll do…

About Team:

Our team collaborates with Walmart International, which has over 5,900 retail units operating outside of the United States under 55 banners in 26 countries including Africa, Argentina, Canada, Central America, Chile, China, India, Japan, and Mexico, to name a few.

 

What you’ll do:

  • You are responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers, in the areas of supply chain management & Customer experience.
  • You are expected to be more intellectually curious engineer who is passionate about domain/technology in general.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • 3 to 6 years of total experience of which 3+ years in Backend engineering platform development.
  • 3+ years of experience in Java technologies, Airflow, spark, GCP, Distributed systems and large-scale application development and design.
  • Must have at-least 2 years of GCP experience
  • Hands on experience Kafka, Cassandra.
  • Experience with a containerization technology and Microservice
  • Well versed in CI/CD
  • Work with Java, Multithreading, Data Structures, Algorithm, Design Patterns and develop robust high- performance and scalable applications.
  • Extremely strong technical background with the capability of being hands-on and ability to mentor top individual technical talent.

Senior Software Engineer – Frontend

The Walmart Global Tax Department is looking for a Sr. Manager, International Tax Controversy to join our Global Controversy Tax Team.

  • Support the development of non-U.S. market strategies to successfully resolve non-U.S. tax controversies, including foreign country tax audits, tax appeals, and tax litigation.
  • Provide global insight, expertise, and oversee global governance on complex tax matters to our non-U.S. market leadership to ensure tax positions are thoroughly vetted, documented, and there is utmost integrity in our reporting for controversy matters.
  • Collaborate with non-U.S. markets and other Tax Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the implementation and execution of foreign audit plans and alternative dispute resolution strategies
  • Support the continuous improvement of global best practices, including the analysis & documentation of uncertain tax positions, documentation of ongoing controversies, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor global tax developments to ensure we remain up to date on tax positions.

 

About the Team:

This is an opportunity to join a growing Global Controversy tax team, at the scale of Fortune #1. You will serve as a HQ partner and key resource for Tax Controversy for non-U.S. matters and drive value through the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities. In your partnership with local Tax Leadership, local markets, and global Tax SMEs you’ll offer technical support, assistance with identifying relevant alternative dispute strategies, and driving best practices across the markets.

Global collaboration will be key for this role, both outside the U.S. and within.  In addition to market leadership, you’ll also partner with Walmart’s International Counsels, external advisors, and serve as a key tax liaison with many different departments.  Your enthusiasm to understand and learn our business operations and strategies, along with your zeal to collaborate will aid and support the development of local strategies & execution plans, and then aid in the execution & delivery of results.

Manager, Finance

Team and Position Summary:

  • This position is part of the Global Tech FP&A Team which is based out of Walmart Global Tech Bengaluru office. This team primarily provides operational support to Walmart’s technology division and drive continuous improvement/enhancements for budgeting and planning processes
  • Finance professional having 6 – 10 years of experience in FP&A processes (various planning models including driver-based planning) with robust understanding of FP&A tools and technology who can support transformations & ongoing improvements/ operations of different Walmart segments FP&A processes

What you will do:

  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and partner teams (product, engineering) to manage & continuously improve product processes and enabling technologies
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and collaborate across business and fin-Tech teams
  • Sound understanding of forecasting and budgeting (AOP) activities with experience of end to end cycle (Variance analysis, flash reports, etc)
  • High proficiency in excel based modelling, developing & maintaining clean, scalable, and flexible models
  • Strong experience in Excel modelling required
  • Collaborate with Fin-tech & business teams in product UAT and sign off
  • Ability to identify execution risks and roadblocks in timely manner thereby ensuring noiseless delivery and efficient stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to accurately document existing processes, change requests and business requirements and maintaining functional design models
  • Support in maintaining training documentation to capture FP&A models and system
  • Experience of tech implementation/enhancements along with hyper-care support

 

What you will bring:

  • CA / CPA / MBA or equivalent qualification 
  • Minimum 6-10 years of post-qualification experience in FP&A processes 
  • Experience of working with Fin-Tech and product teams in matrix environment
  • Understanding of excel based financial data modelling

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PowerBI, Tableau will prove to be an asset
  • Exposure to OneStream/ HFM application will be added advantage
  • Experience in finance/FP&A transformation role in an agile methodology

Senior Software Engineer – Frontend

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance front-end applications for our 1P and 3P customers.
  • Develop robust, maintainable, reusable code for managing functionality, configuration, deployment, monitoring, performance, scalability, availability, security, and alerting for software test, integration, and production environments.
  • Plan and implement a series of steps which potentially includes reconfiguration, integration, removal, or addition of application components to enhance the application’s functionality, resiliency, usability, and security.
  • Understand the Business/Stakeholder/Technical requirements and assist in analyzing the existing solutions to address the needs. Assist in creation of simple, modular, extensible functional design for the product/solution in adherence to the requirements.
  • Assess gaps/ updates/ modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions.
  • Analyze defects from past projects/solutions to avoid recurrence of similar defects.
  • Analyze system performance impacting the complete product for non-functional requirements like reliability, operability, performance efficiency and security. Troubleshoot performance and availability bottlenecks for the application.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test cases (adopting Shift Left practice) and deployment procedures.
  • Follow coding and design best practices developed by the teams and contribute towards their continuous improvement.
  • Plan Hardware Capacity for high traffic business Events.
  • Design Build and maintain Observability aspects of application.
  • Review Peer Code and help create a culture of continuous improvements on the architecture.
  • Work with relevant stakeholders on launching AB tests for different functionalities getting rolled out.
  • Experience in creating user interfaces using appropriate and relevant technologies (e.g., HTML 5 coding, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) libraries like Bootstrap, etc.) using best practices and appropriate design patterns.
  • Relevant front end programming experience in relevant languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Spring, Node, React, Angular etc.)
  • Experience integrating with scalable back-end services (e.g., REST / graph-QL).
  • Experience in functional, integration and E2E (End 2 End) testing tools and practices.
  • Experience with code repositories and version control practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices. Automated deployment experience is a plus.
  • Experience in software quality and operational excellence practices.
  • Experience in agile development methodology.
