Job Summary :

The Sustainability Manager will be responsible for driving Swiggy’s sustainability initiatives across all business units, focusing on environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and governance (ESG) compliance. This role will be pivotal in driving Swiggy’s sustainability efforts by executing initiatives that reflect global best practices and support the company’s long-term growth objectives. The position requires close collaboration with various teams and external partners to enhance Swiggy’s sustainability profile while achieving measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Environmental Impact Initiatives:

 Spearhead efforts to reduce Swiggy's carbon footprint, including transitioning to electric

vehicle fleets and promoting renewable energy sources.

 Work on waste reduction initiatives, including reducing packaging and food waste and

promoting sustainable sourcing across the supply chain.

 Develop innovative programs that encourage customers and partners to make eco-conscious

choices through Swiggy’s platform.

2. Social Impact Programs:

 Lead initiatives focused on workforce development, including upskilling and reskilling of

delivery partners and small business owners.

 Develop and scale initiatives focused on community and ecosystem well-being including

road safety for delivery partners and food quality for customers.

 Promote diversity and inclusion through initiatives that encourage women’s participation in

Swiggy’s delivery network, operations, and related ecosystems.

 Support community-driven programs that enhance the quality of life in urban spaces.

3. ESG Compliance & Reporting:

 Manage Swiggy’s ESG reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks,

including Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report (BRSR).

 Collaborate with various internal departments to collect and verify sustainability-related

data, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.

 Digitise ESG data measurement and monitoring.

 Monitor evolving regulations and industry trends to ensure Swiggy stays ahead of

compliance requirements and multi-stakeholder expectations.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships:

 Lead cross-functional teams to roll out sustainability initiatives, ensuring integration across

Swiggy’s platform, from food delivery to quick commerce.

 Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies,

NGOs, and industry organizations, to further Swiggy’s sustainability goals; represent Swiggy

at industry forums.

 Collaborate with the communications team to promote sustainability initiatives and

achievements across Swiggy’s customer base, delivery partners, and the broader

community.

Key Qualifications :

 Education: MBA or a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public

Policy, Economics is preferred.

 Experience: 2-5 years of experience in sustainability or corporate social responsibility (CSR),

preferably within the FMCG, tech, food, or logistics sectors.

 Skills:

o Strong understanding of global sustainability frameworks and ESG reporting

standards.

o Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee large-scale

initiatives and drive cross-functional collaboration.

o Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to

engage both internal teams and external partners effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities :

  • The role will primarily work on building and executing levers that enable Premium and Gourmet restaurants to grow their business on Swiggy across the order funnel.
  • The candidate would be responsible to drive projects on revenue maximization and cost minimization at the regional level.
  • The candidate will be expected to run experiments and pilots for growth hacks, to validate hypotheses and scale the same across locations.
  • Analysing various business scenarios and recommending prompt actions for de-risking business. Use data resources available across business metrics to build deeper insights for partners on a regular basis: candidate needs to be extremely comfortable with numbers and talking metric language on a daily basis.
  • Manage and own the P&L across partners effectively. Understanding of Partner’s P&L and business decisions based on the same is expected.

  • Actively managing and implementing user acquisition campaigns against established objectives and budgets across multiple (In app & Out of app) channels. Monitoring the ROI from various campaigns and continually working towards improving the performance of the key Ad properties
  • Working cross-functionally with key account managers and central marketing teams to guide and support the
  • development of marketing plans to reach business targets. Coordinate with cross functional team across Operations, Marketing, Supply, Menu Excellence to create processes &  implement personalized/ central level initiatives in an efficient & robust manner
  • Direct responsibility of key metrics like Order per day, Discount%, Funnel conversion at platform level, customer acquisition/ repeat business, campaign ROIs etc.
  • Working closely with the analytics and city teams to develop order projections of high degree of accuracy.

Through restaurant reviews, interviews, collabs, pop-ups and more, over the years Mumbai Foodie has become a guide to the F&B scene of the city with 5 pages & more to come.

What will you work on:

1) Event Planning & Execution:

  • Assist in developing and managing end-to-end planning of branded and promotional events for Mumbai Foodie.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (content, post-production, production) to conceptualize event themes and formats.
  • Assisting in handling all logistical aspects, including venue selection and vendor management.
  • Ensure events align with the brand identity and deliver an exceptional experience for attendees.
  • Oversee on-ground coordination, including set-up, guest management, and event flow to ensure seamless execution.

2) Partnership Development:

  • Identify and establish relationships with relevant brands that align with our objectives.

  • Previous experience working in the food and beverage industry with a strong network within the F&B, hospitality, and media industries.
