Conference Services Attendant

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under direction of supervisor, efficiently manage and coordinate all services for conference spaces, break rooms, pantries, and visiting attorney offices by being professional, caring, resourceful and motivated.  A Conference Services Attendant is proactive, anticipating clients’ needs as well as responds promptly to the requests of customers by aligning services to the customers’ needs and schedules.  Conference Services Attendants are required to become ServSafe certified in both Food Safety and Alcohol Service in accordance with state law.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintain conference space, kitchens, break rooms and visiting attorney offices in a neat, clean and orderly manner in accordance with the established firmwide Return to Inventory (RTI) procedures documented on the department’s ABnet Private Site.
  • Manage inventory of supplies and keep assigned areas stocked.
  • Ensure firm equipment (dinnerware, machinery and event supplies) is cleaned, sanitized and organized on a daily basis, as well as maintained to the standards outlined on ABNet Private site.
  • Working knowledge of basic technology equipment functionality in conference rooms/floors
  • Working knowledge of department’s room reservation system.
  • Preparation, execution and closeout of special office social and business-related events.
  • Perform other related duties in the Conference Services Department as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Required:

  • Previous experience of 3 or more years in the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Positive interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Basic experience with audio visual equipment.
  • ServSafe certification in Food Safety in accordance with state law

PHYSICAL EFFORT

Resource Center Coordinator – Evening

The Global Resource Center (GRC) Coordinator, under the direction of the manager, offers several benefits to the GRC in terms of efficiency, quality and organization. Candidates for this role will perform a variety of duties, including coordinating workflow and overseeing the shift operations of the Center. Candidates should be eager to develop and apply the highest standards of excellence, with strong attention to detail in all assigned tasks. The GRC Coordinator will be expected to maintain open and professional communication with internal customers (i.e., attorneys, staff, and managers) serving as the central point of communication between requestors and specialists. They must have the ability to receive detailed information through verbal communication and accurately convey important spoken instructions to other workers. This ensures that all requests are clearly communicated, deadlines are met, and any changes or updates are promptly relayed.  Additionally, candidates must demonstrate flexibility in their work schedule to meet the needs of the department, including providing additional support for projects and working overtime when required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Responsible for overall guidance of assigned shift of Resource Center personnel.

Alston Discovery Project Attorney (eDiscovery) (FULLY REMOTE)

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Attorney licensed in the state in which they are employed and paid on an hourly basis to assist in complex document reviews, legal research, writing and analysis, and other projects.
  • Alston Discovery Project Attorneys are hired for a temporary period of time or for the duration of a particular project or projects.
  • Alston Discovery Project Attorneys are temporary employees of Alston & Bird, with his/her official employer of record being TCWGlobal. If they qualify, they are offered benefits through TCWGlobal.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist in complex document reviews, legal research/analysis, and other projects.
  • Review and analyze documents using a variety of online review tools, including Relativity.
  • Analyze and apply subjective coding of privileged and responsive documents.
  • Perform 2nd tier review or quality control on a document review.
  • Index and organize documents.

Regional Human Resources Manager

Under direction of the Director of Administration and the Director of Human Resources, the Regional Human Resources Manager performs a variety of recruiting and generalist duties for the firm’s four (4) California offices (Los Angeles, Century City, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley), including the interviewing and selection of candidates, conducting new hire orientation, evaluating the workflow of legal administrative assistant pairings, performance evaluations, and performance management. Responsible for the coordination with Payroll and Benefits for the overall administration of salary information, administration, and communication of information regarding the health, welfare, wellness and retirement plans. The successful candidate will be able to execute, interpret, and implement local, California and Federal labor laws in compliance with Alston & Bird standards, have strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail and accuracy; excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to multitask and thrive under tight deadlines.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Must understand and apply Federal, State and local CA employment laws.
  • Monitor and coordinate appropriate legal administrative assistant staffing ratios and workflow.
  • Confer with attorneys, paralegals and legal administrative assistants regarding assignments, performance problems and need for additional training.

  • Work closely with the firm-wide Administrative Officers, Directors, and Managers to ensure that firm-wide practices and procedures are followed.

  • Maintains all employee’s employment records and files in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Manages timekeeping activities for the office, including ensuring all timecards are approved, answering questions about timekeeping and coordinate with Payroll, as necessary.

The salary range in CA for this position is $150,000 – $170,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and locations.
