This position provides the opportunity to be a key member of the American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) Line of Business Compliance Team (LOBCO), primarily supporting business solutions products, credit cards, corporate programs, payment and funding products. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regulatory compliance oversight and guidance to the GCS business sales teams, including the development of new tools, capabilities, and processes to support the sales, servicing, account development and marketing objectives, business-owned collateral, and compliance related control environment.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Drive implementation of policy and regulatory requirements in the areas of banking and credit card practices, consumer protection, privacy and other relevant federal, state and local regulations.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on the content governance related to the management of marketing, sales campaigns, sales support servicing, and related business-owned collateral and testing compendiums.
  • Participate in review of sales call activities, misconduct events, complaints, and business conduct activities to ensure adherence with regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Assist in development and enhancement of regulatory business self-testing associated with marketing and sales practices, via the assessment and oversight of compliance risk mitigating controls.
  • Liaise as required with the relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to:  GCS SME and G&L Sales, GCS Marketing, Controls Management, Internal Audit, Independent Compliance Testing team, General Counsel’s Organization, and Global Privacy Office.
  • Effectively manage the Compliance Issue Management process and to ensure appropriate decisioning of Compliance Issues, timely closure of gaps and customer remediation where required.
  • Participate in the Compliance Risk Assessment process to ensure that all applicable laws and regulations are mapped to the applicable business processes.
  • Additional responsibilities based on team needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Compliance or related activities, within the financial services and banking industry.
  • Strong regulatory knowledge of the financial regulations pertaining to banking, consumer protection, privacy and advertising (i.e. UDAP, TCPA, CAN-SPAM).
  • Moderate knowledge and understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk and control assessments.
  • Proven ability to build rapport, garner respect and appropriately exercise authority in a collaborative environment.
  • Professional maturity and confidence in expressing a point of view with management.
  • Ability to identify and understand key risks, issues and trends and to develop meaningful information to be shared with leadership.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a highly deadline-intensive environment is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

Manager – Control Management

The objective of the Global Services Group (GSG) Control Management Governance team is to establish the Operational Risk and Controls strategy for GSG, set up a foundational governance structure that ensures operational risks are identified, assessed, and managed in compliance with enterprise Operational Risk Management programs and reporting.

GSG Control Management is looking for a Manager of Governance focused on ensuring control management is embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. It will involve extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies.

The Manager, GSG Control Manager Governance will:

  • Support the day-to-day internal and external exam management process, working with the Enterprise functions (e.g., data request compilation, action implementation, and regulatory adherence)
  • Support execution plans for operational risk management within the business unit GSG, including GSG specific guidelines, project plans, etc.
  • Implement the operational risk framework to enable effective risk management and decision making in GSG
  • Help create GSG-specific procedures and additional standards (i.e., escalation protocols), related to the execution of the Operational Risk Management programs
  • Facilitate the understanding and use of the risk governance framework across GSG through regular communication
  • Support sharing insights, better practices, themes, etc. across the enterprise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous
  • Experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) and understands critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
  • Experience in at least one of the following in a supporting role: Translating operational risk strategy and appetite into execution guidelines; Tracking and identifying issues with Key Risk Indicator (KRI) limits and risk appetite to ensure operational risks are managed within agreed thresholds; Implementing the operational risk governance frameworks; Creating, communicating and ensuring understanding and adherence to operational risk procedures and standards; Supporting the operational risk exam management processes

The role of the Member Service Professional (MSP) will be to deliver superior service to Card Members visiting the American Express Centurion Lounge, located at JFK International Airport. MSPs will be the face of American Express to our customers, acting as ambassadors of the brand. A successful MSP within the Centurion Lounge will have a passion for delivering extraordinary service to our best Card Members, in a customer facing environment. Our MSPs are highly skilled and motivated, providing travel, card, concierge, and lifestyle services to American Express Card Members. Acting as a consultant, our MSPs will tailor our products and services to assist Card Members with their immediate needs and deepening their relationship with American Express. It is our mission to become essential to our Card Members by providing differentiated products and services. It is our duty to make Membership come to life every day. MSPs do this by:

– Welcoming and providing access to our Card Members upon arrival at reception.

The Director, Business Development on the Amex Offers Sales & Success Team will be responsible for managing a sales team, dedicated to the acquisition of new advertisers and brands into the Amex Offers ecosystem.
