Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage various indirect tax aspects of our global businesses with a focus on APAC
- Deliver timely and accurate indirect tax advice to business units
- Advise on intercompany relationships and transactions
- Manage the indirect tax aspects of new APAC regulations and new country expansions
- Support VAT audits
- Collaborate and coordinate with various business resources, other tax functions, and external tax advisers
- Liaise with finance / shared services in support of issues identified during indirect tax compliance process
- Liaise with finance and accounting for tax reserve planning and management
- Manage and participate in development of software solutions for indirect tax automation
- Implement, review and optimize SAP processes dealing with indirect taxes and reporting
- Assist with developing training material to be deployed to key functions within the business
- Coordinate with third party advisors, as required, who may assist in managing all or some of the above
Job Requirements:
- Experience with indirect tax compliance and audits in APAC
- Knowledge of GST & VAT in APAC
- Familiarity with the indirect taxation trends of the digital economy
- Knowledge of e-invoicing and e-reporting in APAC
- Familiarity and experience with global VAT systems desired
- Experience with indirect taxes pertaining to financial services desired
- Up-to-date on current VAT practices and technical issues
- Strong project management and organization skills
- Capable of working independently while acting as part of a global tax team
- Capable of leading tax projects with cross-functional dependencies
- Working experience in multinational environments
- Confidence, poise, and diplomacy when interacting with all levels of management, external consultants, and tax authorities
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations
- Demonstrated passion and track record of delivering results in a rapidly changing business environment
- Strong customer focus; good listening and problem resolution skills
- A great sense of accuracy
- Strong issue identification and mitigation skills
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently holds a similar position or is an Indirect Tax Senior Analyst/Manager at an accounting firm
- 6-10 years of indirect tax experience
- Fluent in English – other languages helpful
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis in Tax, Legal, or Accounting; advanced degree is helpful

Relevant Experience & Role Competencies

- You are customer-centric and maintain a high level of customer care in a variety of different and complicated situations.
- Skilled and insightful to the needs of customers
- Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced, and constantly evolving working environment.
- We provide 8 weeks of virtual training Monday – Friday. We require full attendance for the training period and advise that no PTO can be taken in the first 3 months of this position to provide optimum training & upskilling.
Work From Home Requirements
- Must Be Located in Texas.
- Have a secure workspace, preferably in a room or office with a door that closes it off from noises and distractions such as pets, children, and other adults.
- Willing to work a structured work schedule which includes not being able to undertake the primary care of another individual (such as a child or adult) while working at home.
- Wired Internet connection, capable of continuously supporting excellent call quality and high-speed response rates (wireless, DSL and/or satellite Internet Service Providers are not compatible with our systems)
- Internet service does need to have a consistent internet speed of 10 mbps download and 4 mbps upload.
