About the Team
As the Growth team, we play a key role in making Meesho one of the most sought-after e-commerce destinations in India😋 We hold end-to-end responsibility to launch and scale-up users on the platform by ensuring the right selection, competitive pricing and sales. As our copywriter, you’ll join us to create the best user experience in the online shopping journey – word by word✍
From acquiring users onto the social media channels through social-first campaigns to monthly sales campaigns, we look after all funnels of the user’s life on Meesho. We also engage and retain our users on the platform with growth-related initiatives. We want to enable every user to experience the power of Internet commerce💪

About the Role
This is a role designed for people who have writing skills, a point of view and an undying need to stir things up. As a writer at Meesho, you’d not just write copy that makes the industry jealous, but also think of big, hairy audacious ideas that actually make a difference. It doesn’t matter what you wear, where you are from, what your background is or how you look like… the only thing that matters is how well you can translate your thoughts into words.
What’s given – you’d know how to write, wield words to your liking, be precise and clear in your copy, not make spelling mistakes and be most importantly, be a good person. Rest you’ll learn on the job.
But apart from writing copy, you’ll also get to learn a lot more. You’ll get a peek into how impact is created at the scale of 14cr Indians. How India’s first profitable ecommerce startup democratizes the marketplace. How culture is not just followed, but also created. How to create and execute campaigns that turn seamlessly into water cooler chatter. And that’s just scratching the surface.

What you will do

  • Write copy. Duh.
  • Not make spelling mistakes. (You won’t believe how many typos are floating around in this world)
  • Collaborate with a motivated and ambitious team whose only goal is to make great work.
  • Explore different tones of voice, creative devices, mediums, channels and platforms to make the best set of ideas come through.
  • Write idea first copy that moves a large mass of Indians.
  • Change perceptions, make news, challenge mindsets and possibly win a ton of awards.
  •  Wield your skills at different streams of work from performance, to PNs to national campaigns.
  •  Not make boring things.

What you will need

  • Experience: 2+ years of copywriting experience (Non-negotiable).A combination of ad agency and client-side experience is a plus.
  • Have previously worked on a myriad of brands and industries. (Kudos, if you’ve worked on an e-commerce brand).
  • Experience in writing PNs, performance ads, print and social. (Bonus if you’ve also written films).
